Family, A Trip to the Zoo, and a Sneak Peek at Monday's PM Style

by on ‎08-22-2012 05:38 PM

Spending time with family can truly rejuvenate and energize a person. This past weekend we held a cookout at our home and I had the opportunity to catch up with family I haven’t seen since my wedding four years ago. By the end of the night I was exhausted but so happy having been surrounded by loved ones. I kept the love fest going by spending a day with my mom and sister. My little sis, Lea, is visiting from Los Angeles and we decided to spend the day at the Baltimore Zoo.  Whenever you get the two of us together we revert to acting like 10-year-olds, not women in their late 30s.

We had a blast while my poor mother played enforcer. At every exhibit we wanted to take pictures and linger, all the while mom prompting us to “come on you two!”  Here are some photos of our day at the zoo!

While observing the animals I did take the time to appreciate the beauty of these creatures—the gorgeous spots of the cheetah, the random blocky pattern of the giraffe, and the slinky, shiny texture of the snakes. It’s really no mystery why fashion has embraced these patterns and textures. They add a touch of exotic beauty and sophistication to any outfit and you can find lots of ideas on QVC.com to spice up your wardrobe.

For more wardrobe ideas, make sure to tune in to PM Style, Monday at 7pm ET.  Making her return to QVC with all-new designs is fashion and accessories designer Nicole Richie. I love her boho-chic aesthetic and can’t wait to see what she has in store. Also stopping by the show is award-winning designer Isaac Mizrahi and perfumer Tova Borgnine. And don’t forget about my new segment, Gabrielle’s Perfect Pair, where I showcase a pair of shoes from QVC’s large assortment. This week I’ve chosen a sleek pair of tall boots from David Tate (A321079) that you can preview here.

Have a great week, kiss your loved ones, and I’ll see you soon!
