The Lisa Robertson Show is Back! Get a Sneak Peek at Friday's Looks

The Lisa Robertson Show is back this Friday! Yay! I’m so excited. We have some amazing guests, pieces, and of course, “Looks” lined up. To kick off Friday’s show, we’re debuting two of my all-time favorite pieces of the whole season…both are G.I.L.I. and I’m incredibly proud of how these turned out.

The first piece is a sleeveless dress with faux-leather details (A226353) and it’s based on a designer piece that I literally hunted for for months, and finally found at a ridiculously good sale. (I swear it was the last one in my size in the entire country!) It’s a phenomenal dress because it’s simple-chic, comfortable, and the way the faux-leather trim is done makes it extremely, extremely flattering. I think the G.I.L.I. dress turned out to be very sophisticated, and you can see how beautifully it turned out here in two of "The Looks."

The second piece is that jacket. You know...the one I wear in all my Facebook photos (that you often ask about!) We’re calling it the G.I.L.I. Maxi Collar Faux- Leather Jacket (A226346) and don’t let the faux part deter you…the one that I own and wear is faux and there are advantages either way. I like the way I can wipe something right off in case of spills. And, I don’t have to worry if it’s raining! We have two “looks” that feature this jacket: “The Everyday Lisa” (because I really do wear this all the time!) and “Off To The Office.”

So what do these looks have in common? Leather. Leather is a huge trend (once again) this fall and it’s not reserved for jackets. Leather leggings, pants, skirts, and even tops are making an appearance. And, leather edging and trim are updating virtually any garment you can think of (like the G.I.L.I. dress)! The result is a more sophisticated, refined look with just a subtle edge.

What else is trending for fall? Here's first-hand insight from some of the most influential designers in the industry.

Join me this Friday at 10pm ET for our first LRS of the season!
