Fabulous Workplace Fashion

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to moderate a panel for an organization representing women in the cable and telecommunications field. It was exciting to be in a room with so many powerful women, and I learned a lot hearing about their experiences. Being the fashionista that I am, I couldn’t help but admire the fashion looks that these high-powered ladies put together. It was interesting to see that of the four women on the panel, each of them had completely different fashion styles. Allow me to break them down.

The first look I would describe as "Business Basic," a two-piece skirt suit, sensible pumps, and classic jewelry. Her look was polished, pulled together, and strictly business. The second panelist was the complete opposite and I call her look "Corporate Comfort." Her style was relaxed, easy, and low key. She wore a black cardigan and pant, fisherman sandals, and minimal jewelry. She read as approachable, easygoing, and open to new ideas.

The third look was a combination of Business Basic and Corporate Comfort. Her outfit consisted of a tailored two-piece pantsuit. The jacket was a flattering ivory color with black trim and a pair of black slacks with beautiful statement jewelry. While her ensemble read business, the look was also feminine, fashionable, and comfortable.

The last look was my favorite and I call it "Office Avant-Garde." I was immediately drawn to this outfit because it featured pattern, color, and killer shoes. Picture a colorful Mondrian-type print on a sheath dress with a matching duster jacket. The shoes were the perfect match to such an eye-catching outfit: patent nude wedges with gold metal-wrapped heels. Fierce!

No matter what your style is and whether you’re in the workforce or not, Monday’s P.M. Style will feature something for you. Make sure to tune in at 7pm ET for lots of new fashions from Louis Dell’Olio, Liz Claiborne New York, M by Marc Bouwer, and Joan Rivers. I’ll be chatting live on the QVC Facebook page during the show, so join me and let me know how you would describe your style or leave your comments here. Talk to you soon!
