Mothers Day is everyday.  I have heard that statement for years from my mom, but until I had children of my own I never really gave it much thought.  My mom would say that whenever we talked about planning a special brunch for Mothers Day.  Or if I asked her if there was anything she would like as a gift.  I used to think that she was only saying it so we didn’t feel obligated to purchase some extravagant gift.  Now that Lauren is 21 and Chelsea is 19, I understand.  There really isn’t any gift that could possibly be better than the gift I received when my girls were born.  I know that sounds very cliché but when I look at them my heart soars.  I am so proud of the beautiful young women they have become. 

I also understand the blessing that I have been given to being able to share a special bond and friendship with my mom (Jane, Jane Sr. or Big Gramps) and mother-in-law (Gloria, Glo or Grammy).  They are truly an inspiration to me.  Life so often can throw you curve balls and obstacles that in the moment can seem insurmountable but my mothers have taught me that with faith, kindness, love and God’s help anything is possible. 

You often hear me talk about my sister, Cathy, on the air.  She is the wind beneath my wings.  We laugh alike, walk alike, and at times we even talk alike, what a crazy pair!  Just like on the Patty Duke show.  We have both enjoyed helping each other raise our girls.  I am surrounded by multiple generations of strong, caring, nurturing, loving, Mothers, sisters, friends.
