Friday's Topic on LRS: West Coast Chic

L.A. women have a style all their own. I don't know if it's the great weather, or if there's something in the water, but the women there all have a casual, yet sophisticated point of view. Instead of all black, like New York, (which I'm obviously partial to), it's designer jeans and a T-shirt, or an exotic tunic with skinny jeans.

So much of the West Coast fashion is flowy, effortless, and free-spirited. But, while care-free Californians may embrace a more simplified look, they like to finish it with great accessories. A simple T-shirt and jeans can have a different style depending on how you finish it: a great piece of diamond jewelry for a sophisticated look, a leather jacket for more rock-n-roll, or an embellished bag for urban boho.

This year at New York Fashion Week, we saw a lot of laid-back, West-Coast inspired fashions, that fit that urban boho trend. And, we asked L.A.-based designer Geren Ford for her advice on pulling it off. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

The urban boho look is a lot of fun. You can wear more colors and prints, you can add more accessories, and you can really enjoy your summer dressing. It's nice to branch out every now and then. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin} Maxi dresses are a basic for the urban boho look, and a lot of others. If you're just starting your summer dress shopping, feel free to refer to last week's blog on the dos and don'ts of maxi-dresses. There are definitely some starting points there to make your shopping easier.

We'll also be welcoming two more L.A.-based designers to The Lisa Robertson Show this Friday: Rachel Pally and Lisa Rinna, and they're bringing some beautiful, original designs with them.

See you at 10pm ET.

P.S. Speaking of West Coast designers and original designs, a lot of you are still talking about my dress from Buzz on the Red Carpet (and I'm still thinking about it!) So I wanted to share this video of Mark Zunino actually creating the dress, start to finish.
