I sat with a few friends last week at a Fashion Show fundraiser at Neiman Marcus. (You can check out my Facebook to see a couple of pics from the show. There's one with designer, Nicole Miller...she's a trooper and was the feature for this event.) Naturally, I'm swimming in all that Spring 2012 has to offer. Between trend meetings, fashion shows, fashion clinics (I conduct these), Fashion Days and Effortless Style® airings for QVC and research, I dream the trends – day and night!! I did a play by play last week during the show for the women who were in our group (their request). It's easy to see and not see; miss the story and the point if you're not sure what you're looking for. So here's a brief rundown of what's up for Spring 2012 to get you started on your picks of the season:

COLOR...unmistakable, unabashed COLOR! Pick your hue. Think tropical and citrus, and you'll be bang on. 

PRINTS...retro and graphics; stripes (a perennial favorite!); and what would Spring be without...FLORALS! (small scale and large romantics)

TEXTURE...DENIM: add denim to anything, and you've just moved ahead with the times; Ladylike lace and crochet are BIG, BIG, BIG!  

SILHOUETTE...slim leg pant; wide-leg and flowy; long flowy skirts and dresses (maxis to the MAX!)

There's a start. I'll chime back in and fill you in on more next time. But for now, the show was lovely, the food was light and elegant, and I love to see trend-wise women concerned about others. Now that's always in style.
