YOU'RE NEVER FULLY DRESSED…

So, I think the tune from the musical Annie definitely has some validity, don't you?  "You're never fully dressed without a smile!"  A few years ago when my husband and I were beginning our journey into the thrilling, albeit murky waters of marriage, someone we'd gone to for some counsel gave us the best advice: "You two need to just go out and have some FUN! Climb a tree or something!" (We over analyzed everything and over communicated, slicing and dicing every nuance of every sentence…ugh!).  Good advice.  He was right, and we got it.


We've always looked for ways to do just that.  In fact, my gift to Cam this Christmas was Jerry Seinfeld tickets.  We had the best night!  I hadn't laughed so hard in a long time, and it felt exhilarating!  My cheeks felt like they did after my wedding day!  (Go see him if you can.)  Laughter really is good medicine.  Of course, I'm not talking about covering over every aspect of life with a grin and a chuckle…that's not it at all.  Notice when I say on-air, "With this outfit you grab a great…handbag/shoes/lipstick/whatever...and a genuine smile, and you're good to go!"  Genuine is the key.  It's always strange to me when people don't do anything but smile through all of life's stuff.
