Animal Rescue, My Re-Birthday, and Happy New Year!

by on ‎01-03-2012 04:50 PM

Well, here we all are on the other side of Holidays 2011!! How did you fare? I sincerely hope your holiday season and New Year’s was warm and wonderful, as was mine.

I had the pleasure of joining my QVC colleagues as we visited and delivered donations to Main Line Animal Rescue, a shelter that has helped thousands of animals find new homes while launching one of the most successful anti-puppy mill campaigns in the history of animal welfare. The staff there were so gracious and took us on a tour of their amazing facility that encompasses over 50 acres in Pennsylvania, where rescued animals are rehabilitated, nursed to health, and matched with good homes. My fellow host Carolyn Gracie spearheaded the effort to raise funds and solicit food donations and I am so proud of her efforts. I brought my daughter Gabby with me when we toured MLAR, and between the two of us I think we fell madly in love with only 20 or 30 dogs and cats! I need a farm…

As I shift from looking back at what a magical whirlwind 2011 was (after all, I went from a small-business owner in Texas to wide-eyed-dream-job-enjoying rookie host in PA), I am now looking forward with overflowing gratitude and excitement over 2012! This week, I celebrate two momentous occasions: my first solo-hosted shows on the Q, and my 37th birthday.

I actually prefer calling it a “re-birth day,” as it is a day for me to take a good hard look at my goals and dreams and reinforce my desires to see them become realities. I’ve so many exciting things still to see happen in my life and my daughter’s life, and am even more excited now that I have the opportunity to share them with you…and I hope you’ll share your hopes and dreams with me here and on my Facebook page through the years to come!

I so hope you can join me this week on January 4th at 4 am Eastern for my first solo-hosted show (Fashion Clearance!! Doesn’t get much better), and on my Re-Birthday January 5th at 5 am Eastern (Kathleen Kirkwood joins me…hope she likes cupcakes!). My sincerest wishes for a joyous new year to you and your families. May every single dream of yours not only come true, but be exceeded beyond your wildest imaginations.
