The bows have been untied, the paper has been ripped away, and the boxes have been opened.  From one girlfriend to another, I have to know…“What was your favorite gift?”  What is something that was on your wish list or a complete surprise?  My favorite was really a necessity item…a dishwasher.  Isn’t it ‘Murphy’s law’ that a major appliance dies right at holiday time?  Well, I can’t complain because my husband bought me a wonderful new dishwasher.  It’s one of those that really does do all the work and you can’t hear a sound while it’s working.  I have to chuckle at my kids' reactions when I tell them it’s my favorite gift.  Of course our likes do change with age, don’t they?

How about what you gave?  I love to give gifts that someone would never expect but suits them perfectly.  This year I gave the gift of performances to several family members.  My husband loves classical music, so I gave him matinee tickets to some orchestra shows in downtown Philadelphia.  My son, Tyler, was wowed with the UDraw for his video game system, and the twins were thrilled with their new easels.  I am encouraging the artist in them!  Here they are:
