Memories of Emily

by on ‎12-13-2011 05:44 PM

Hi PM Style ladies! I forgot that this Monday’s show was only two hours and only found out about an hour before the show. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m excited to head home sooner, and anytime when one can get more sleep is always nice. But at the same time that means one less hour together. I suppose it wouldn’t be as bad if I was going to see you next week, but we have no PM Style on Monday, December 19. That means we won’t see each other for our usual Monday evenings until the Monday after Christmas. I’ll just think of it as a nice holiday treat to look forward to.

How did you like the show on Monday night? I loved seeing Louis Dell’Olio; he's such a nice man. He gave each host a holiday card and on the front is a picture of his three Scottie dogs. They are adorable and we used to have a Scottie named Emily, so it brought back memories of her. She was a great dog, but she passed away when I lived in NY. We were able to come home and say goodbye to her and that night we had a little “celebration of life” for her. It  was just me, Steve, my parents, my younger sister and her husband, and Steve’s sister and her husband. It was tough on my parents because they had taken care of Emily for many years and my dad had to bury her with Steve's help. That night I think we all needed a drink and a good meal, so that’s what we did. I don’t know how I got on to that story, but when I see a Scottie I think about our Emily.

So, what was I saying…oh, the show! 33 carats!! What did you think of that? I thought 33 carats would have looked even bigger. Not that the ring wasn’t big, but it's still wearable. I wonder how big is too big. 50 carats? What’s the biggest ring that has ever been worn? And not just once, but worn on a regular basis? We’ll have to look into that.

Since we don’t have a show next week, I probably won’t write a blog. But I want to wish you all a very merry Christmas, a happy Hanukkah, feliz Navidad, or whatever holiday you may celebrate. I know this is a special time of the year for many of us and I hope that you have a wonderful, magical holiday. I’ll be on air many more times before Christmas, so feel free to hang out and go shopping with me. I’ll write again after the holidays and update you on all that we did to celebrate and I hope you will too. Have a wonderful Christmas!

Merry Christmas,

—Amy
