An Interview with Joan Rivers: The Power of Tailoring

by on ‎11-04-2011 05:17 PM

I get a lot of questions about wardrobe and make up (which I take as a huge compliment, thank you!). And, while I may not get to answer all your questions here or on Facebook, I promise I'm doing my best. Lately, I've had a lot of questions on the red lip color I've been wearing. It's a combination of Napoleon Perdis and Bare Minerals. I usually start with the Bare Minerals Natural lip liner, apply a few dots of the Napoleon Perdis red gloss, blend it over the entire lip, blot, then apply a sheer Buxom in the center. Sometimes, I use one of the deeper, Pretty Amazing lip colors from Bare Minerals instead. (Hope that helps.)

My video this week is another great video with Joan Rivers. In this segment, we talk about something that’s true for me and virtually anyone whose job (or personal preference) makes them particular about their fashion. To get that “perfect” fit, sometimes you have to have your clothes tailored. I don't think many of us can afford to have our clothes made for us, i.e. couture, but paying a little extra to tailor a quality garment can make people wonder if you did have your clothes made.

Joan is joining us this Monday for PM Style. And, she's bringing my "Jewelry Pick" of the show with her — a pavé chevron bracelet (J263923). What a great statement piece!

My "Style File" this week is a striped ombre sweater from LOGO by Lori Goldstein (A220031). There are also a few accessories included in this look, the Dooney & Bourke Florentine Vachetta satchel (A219864) and the Perfectly Posh bracelet watch from Gossip (J154196).
