“Do you carry that shoe in size eleven”? I’ve asked that question in many, many shoe stores over the years. And more often than not, the answer was “NO”.

By the time I was thirteen, my shoe size was ten. You can imagine, as a seventh grader, all I wanted was to wear the same shoes that my “size-six-shoe-wearing friends” wore. But my feet had already out-grown the junior department - and adult shoes were, well... adult. My mother, trying desperately to lessen my disappointment from the shoe shopping experience, decided we should try catalogs. It was the 70's and knee-high socks and clogs were the rage. But no cute clogs or lace-up platforms for me. Instead, I had an unfortunate array of “sensible” shoes from the ‘Tall Girl Catalog’. Ugh!

(Easter Sunday in the late 60s and I already had an eye for a “pop of color” in a shoe. If bright blue patent leather isn’t a “pop”, I don’t know what is.)

Thankfully, that lasted just a short time. I eventually grew into my shoe size and developed a love of shoes that continues to this day. I have fun deciding what shoes work with my outfits each week on AM Style. And many of you have let me know that you like the shoes too.

The great thing about shopping QVC.com for shoes is that you can shop by style, color, brand, price and size. I never have to ask, “do you carry that shoe in size eleven”? because I know the answer is YES!
