My Red Carpet Weekend

by on ‎09-14-2011 04:55 PM

There is nothing like ‘The Red Carpet’!  I’ve walked the red carpet several times in my life, and it’s always such a great experience.  The energy is so alive.  Everyone is so happy and done up to the nines in glamour.  The Red Carpet is the ‘Show before the Show’.  Everyone is checking out who is wearing who.  Of course it’s a bit more nerve racking when you are a nominee, but I enjoyed every minute this past Saturday, arriving and walking with my dear friend, Mitzi Gaynor, as a presenter.  Mitzi was just in from her performance the night before in Vancouver, BC at the River Rock Theatre.

Here we are.  Mitzi wore a dress I designed for her in black velvet with a beaded trim.

We were very flattered to receive a standing ovation after our introduction which featured clips of Mitzi in her Emmy Award winning costumes from the shows Mitzi Roarin’ in the 20’s, Mitzi Zings into Spring and more.  We had many laughs and a great time handing out the awards for Excellence in Costume Design.

After the whirlwind weekend, I flew into New York to prepare for my shows at QVC this week.  I am thrilled with what we have for this week’s shows.  We all have our ‘red carpets’ to walk and I love designing for you, so join me this week on QVC:  Thursday, September 15th from 4AM-5AM & 1PM-3PM ET; Saturday, September 17th from 7PM-8PM ET; and Sunday, September 18th from 2AM-3AM & 9PM-10PM ET.
