Q: Is this compatible with all Bluetooth devices?


A: The Jam Classic will accept streaming audio from most Bluetooth devices that support audio streaming (A2DP compatible). Alternately, the Aux (line-in) input on the Jam can be used with a 3.5mm cable connector for devices that have an aux output (line out). Refer to the audio source device manufacturer’s literature to determine if these features are available.


 


Q: Can you pair more than one Jam with a device?


A: No, you can only pair one Jam Classic with a device at the same time. 


Q: Can you pair multiple devices with a single Jam?


A: Yes, but not simultaneously.


 


Q: Can this be used with a non-Bluetooth device?


A: Yes, the Jam Classic can be used with non-Bluetooth devices through the included Aux-In Audio Jack.


 


Q: What kind of cable would you need to pair a non-Bluetooth device?


A: A 3.5mm auxiliary cable is needed to connect to a non-Bluetooth enabled device. There is one included with the Jam Classic.


 


Q: Is the speaker charged for out-of-the-box use?


A: Yes, the speaker is fully charged out of the box.


 


Q: How do you recharge the speaker?


A: The unit can be recharged by using the USB to Micro USB cord (included) through a computer or through an AC adapter with a USB jack (not included).


 


Q: Does it come with an AC adapter?


A: No, the Jam Classic comes with a USB to micro-USB charging cord. However, you can use the included USB to micro-USB charging cord with


an AC adapter that has a USB port (not included).


 


Q: Is there an electrical adapter available?


A: No, but you can use any power adapter with a mini USB connector.


 


Q: Is the battery user-replaceable?  If not, can it be replaced?


A: No, the lithium-ion rechargeable battery cannot be replaced.


 


Q: Does the speaker have a battery-level indicator?


A: Yes, the speaker has a battery level indicator. An LED light flashes red when battery is low, and solid green when battery is fully charged.


 


Q: What is the range of the speaker?


A: This speaker will work up to 30 feet away (without obstructions) from your Bluetooth-enabled device.


 


Q: How do you control the system and the content?


A: Content is controlled by the user through the music device that is connected to the Jam Classic.


 


Q: What is the wattage of the speaker?


A: The Jam Classic is a 3-watt speaker.


 


Q: Can you use it as a hands-free device with a cell phone?


A: No, the Jam Classic cannot be used as a speakerphone.


 


Q: Can it be paired with a Bluetooth-compatible TV?


A: The Jam Classic will accept streaming audio from most Bluetooth devices that support audio streaming (A2DP compatible). Q: Can it be paired with a Bluetooth-compatible sound bar or speaker system?


A: The Jam Classic will accept streaming audio from most Bluetooth devices that support audio streaming (A2DP compatible). Alternately, the aux (line-in) input on the Jam can be used with a 3.5mm cable connector for devices that have an aux output (line out). Refer to the audio source device manufacturer’s literature to determine if these features are available.


 


Q: Can it be paired with the iPhone® 5?
A: Yes, the Jam Classic can be paired with an iPhone® 5.


 


Q: Can you use this connected to an iPad® and have headphones connected to the headphone jack simultaneously?


A: When the Jam Classic is connected through a Bluetooth connection to the iPad® and you plug in headphones through the headphone jack the music will begin to play through the headphones only. You are able to switch back and forth between the Jam Classic and headphones through the iPad®. Please consult the iPad® user manual for further instructions on how to do this.


 


Q: Can you answer the phone if this is connected to a cell phone?


A: If the user receives a call while paired to the Jam Classic the music will pause and your ringtone will sound through the phone. The user will then use their phone for the duration of the call. Once the call is ended the music will resume playing through the Jam Classic.


 


Q: Can this be used to amplify the ringtone on a cell phone?
A: No, if your phone rings while connected to the Jam Classic the music will pause and your ringtone will sound through your phone.


 


Q: Can you daisy chain (connect more than one in a sequence) this speaker?


A: No, you cannot daisy chain the Jam Classic.


 


Q: Can I pair this with my computer?


A: Yes, to a computer manufactured within the last two years. Please refer to your computers manufacturer for assistance.


 


Q: Is a pairing code needed? The current JAM CLASSIC HX-P230 user manual states “A pairing code is not required” but I cannot get my unit to pair?


A: When pairing with some Bluetooth devices, in particular Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy models running the Android 4.2.2, operating system, user may be prompted to enter the code and display the code on the screen. The Samsung devices in question prompt the user to input “0000”, which will then allow successful pairing. Subsequent pairings will not require a pairing code.
