Roku TSV Shows How Far Technology Has Come

Man I feel like an old fuddy-dud. Since I’ve become a parent, it’s amazing how much I start to sound like my mom and dad. This is especially true when I hear the phrase “when I was your age, we didn’t have….” leave my mouth. Obviously with today’s avalanche of new technology this comes rolling off my tongue quite often, and there is almost always a little tinge of envy attached. Take watching TV. Back when Carter was president, cartoons were just a Saturday morning event. You want to change the channel, get off your tush and turn the dial. Want to watch a movie? You better get mom to load you and your friends in the old trusty station wagon and take you to the theater. Today, the most common phase I hear in our family room is “Daddy, pause it please.” Pause it, are you serious? Do my 2 little angels think they can watch what they want, when they want? Yes, they do, and yes they can.

Instead of being locked into 5 channels and lots of snow, our entertainment options are AWESOME today. Coming soon to the Q is a really cool device that is going to expand your options even more and blow you away. It’s called ROKU, and to be honest, it doesn’t look like much. It’s just a little black box that plugs into your TV. Really that’s it. There are no fancy bells, whistles, or laser light shows, but this little box packs a Joe Frazier-like punch. Roku connects to your home's wireless internet and allows to watch what you want, when you want from some of the biggest names in entertainment. Want to watch a movie? Don’t go to a store or wait for it to arrive in the mail, stream it on your ROKU. How about that cool show on HBO? Stream it through the ROKU. Need to see the Canucks/Maple Leafs game or the kids are screaming for some Disney? Yup, you got it….. ROKU.

Yeah, we didn’t have this back in my day, but man am I happy it's here now.
