Hey shoe lovers!  Lauren here.  This week at the Q, we are getting ready for a fabulous ankle boot Today’s Special Value from one of our favorite footwear brands, Clarks.  Earlier this week, I had the pleasure to catch up with our long lost friend from Clarks, Steve Mahoney, to find out what he has been up to! 

Lauren: We used to see you on QVC all of the time, but lately, your visits have become less.  What have you been up to

Steve: Working at my regular job as VP of women's sales. I travel a lot but I love it!

Lauren: How long have you been in the footwear industry?  Did you always dream of being a shoe salesman?

Steve: I’ve been in the industry for 28 years and I'm only 41! I started in high school and sold shoes throughout college. After college, I was a store manager until Clark's hired me 17 years ago. I'm not sure it was my dream to be a ‘shoe salesman’.  I always wanted to be a weatherman but the shoes have given me a good life so I can’t complain.

Lauren: What is your favorite thing about your job?

Steve: The travel and the ability to interact with customers and consumers everyday! Sounds cliché but it's totally true!

Enough about work….let’s get some scoop on Steve’s personal life! 

Lauren: How many pairs of shoes are in your closet?  

Steve: I’d say about 15 pairs.  I cycle through shoes and donate a lot so I don’t have a ton at any one given time.

Lauren: What is the quirkiest item in your wardrobe

Steve: I don't think I'm that quirky but throughout fall and winter I wear scali caps. Must be the Irish in me!

**Side note, I would disagree…on the day I interviewed Steve, he was wearing crazy polka dot socks!

Lauren: When I’m not working, I like to ______

Steve: Travel, go to the beach, listen to music and mostly eat great food!

Steve: I speak fluent Spanish!
