Am I the Only One Who Thinks New Year’s Eve is Overrated?

Could I be the Scrooge of New Year’s Eve?  I just don’t get what all the hype is about, and never really have.  Maybe because I prefer to celebrate life’s blessings all year long, and really do cherish those moments and look back on them fondly.  I admit that I have never liked the words to Auld Lang Syne.  I think they are sad.  I thank God for my old acquaintances, and the new ones who will eventually, if all goes well, become old!

Julie, my best friend since Junior High came for a visit a couple of weeks ago, and I was definitely reminded of how blessed I am that she moved to Mankato, Minnesota from Iowa and joined my 7th grade gymnastics team.  Although we still laugh about how competitive we were.  Boy, that little spit fire really made me up my back-handspring!  All these years later, although we don’t see each other often, we have an incredible bond that I feel will last for years to come!

As I look back over this year, I recall with joy and sadness some important celebrations along the way. We celebrated the marriage of our son Miles to his beautiful bride Heather on a sunny weekend in San Diego.  We gathered with family and many friends to celebrate the lives of both Bill’s mother and father who passed away this year. It was really wonderful to take time to honor all that they meant to our family and to their Buffalo community.  We were all reminded of the vibrant young lives they had before they so lovingly embraced the roles of   “Grandma and Grandpa”.  I know where Bill gets his sense of style and fondness for classic cars!

Bill and I also had many wonderful celebrations with you, our Sincerely Sisters, as we traveled across America.  We toasted our friendship at a gathering at Sterling Vineyards in Napa Valley, and again at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville.  And I always feel your spirit and energy when we join together on air and on line.  I truly cherish your friendship and support.  In the spirit of friendship, Jill Bauer and I will be together for my first two Sincerely, Carolyn Pollack shows of 2012! Jill was my Host for my very first QVC show in 1995, and these “old acquaintances” have been friends ever since!  I hope you will join us for some laughter, stories and vibrant jewelry on January 6th from 4-6pm EST and January 7th from 3-5pm EST

All of us at Relios wish you a very Happy New Year, and fond memories of years gone by!

Love,

Carolyn
