I've always dreamed of living in a small town. A place where life was simple, slow, and easy. A town where everyone knows each other and people look out for each other—a community. But, I also crave the excitement of the big city: the culture, the diversity, the great restaurants, the nightlife! After years of moving around the globe, searching for this elusive utopia, I believe that I've found it. It's a place called Brooklyn, and I have been living and working here for over two years now, and I love it! My salon is a place where people from the neighborhood gather and connect. For my family, the salon has helped us build our community and feel a part of it, especially for such a short time in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn, however, does have its, how should I say this, "shortcomings." In the city that never sleeps, where the almighty dollar reigns supreme, and where everybody seems to be working 24/7 (I'm sure that wherever you live, you can empathize with this last one), it seems like one of the most basic accoutrements of modern life has made a disappearing act in an effort to gain back a few minutes of precious time. But at what price?

I am, of course, speaking of the blowdryer. In my small town of 2.5 million, what I hear most from my clients is, "I want to look my best, but I don't want to spend a lot of time on my hair because I'm too busy."
