Hi tartelettes!

I hope your summer has kicked off to a wonderful start. This beautiful weather has been such a welcome change from that winter we had! Now that my boys are officially on summer vacation, my days have been packed with surf lessons, bike rides and more ice cream cones than I’d like to admit!

We’re definitely trying to enjoy every minute of this season since it comes and goes so quickly every year, and during the summer months I feel especially blessed to live near the beach. My family and I are looking forward to lots of sunset picnics, catching waves and brushing up on our paddle board skills. The boys have gotten so good, I can barely keep up anymore!

If you’ve seen any of our most recent shows on QVC, then you’ve probably had the chance to “meet” a special tarte team member, Leigh McIlravy. If you haven’t, tune in on July 2nd   for our show together! I hope you love her as much as I do since you’ll be seeing more of her in the coming months. Leigh has been with tarte for 7 years (wow, the time has flown!), and she works with me on developing our new products for QVC.

Since my sons are getting older, I’m trying—keyword: trying—to strike that seemingly impossible balance between work and family. I’m spending more time in the office on product development and also making sure I’m there for more soccer games, playdates and school plays. While that may mean seeing less of me at QVC, I promise you are in GREAT hands!

Leigh is a not only beauty-obsessed, but QVC-obsessed as well! She is a loyal GILI shopper and owns more tempt- ations cookware than anyone I know! She’s also a big advocate of the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and has been joining me with QVC in the annual Super Saturday fundraisers since she’s been with tarte. Cancer charities are very close to her heart, and she is honored to have the opportunity to partner with QVC and the tarte gives back program to support such a remarkable organization that helps women all over the country. Outside of work, she is an avid runner, yogi, animal lover and mommy to her bulldog Luca.

But most importantly, Leigh shares in my passion to create high-performance natural™ formulas that make you look and feel beautiful from the inside out. Plus, she has a makeup artist background so she’ll be able to share some super helpful application tips and tricks with all of you tartelettes at home.

We don’t just work closely in the office though. Leigh and I have traveled to Brazil together where we source our Amazonian clay and maracuja oil, and we actually just returned from a trip where we discovered an amazing new ingredient that we’ll be introducing to you in the near future.
