Must have products

There’s a yearly alarm signal for your skin that goes off in apartments across New York City: the heat is on. Once your building has succumbed to cold weather and finally turned on those toasty radiators, you can expect the quality of your skin to take a nosedive. Gone are the dewy days of summer--and hello, dry skin. However that dry pre-winter feel arrives in your part of the country, we all know the feeling: Suddenly you’ve got thirsty skin that needs serious tending to in order to nurse it back to a healthy glow.

I have some tricks up my sleeve as I’m sure many women do--and I’d love to trade secrets with you in the comments! Here’s what I’m planning to scoop up immediately.

1. Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Light with Bonus Color Stick

This is a light version of the regular oil. In other words, you can expect a more matte-like finish on the skin, which is great if you use it to moisturize your face like I do! It maintains all the same great benefits though, which means immediate-gratification moisturization. While I’d typically use something water-based in the summer months, this oil will get absorbed quickly by my wintry skin. I even use this oil on my nails and ends of my hair. As a major extra, this one comes with a color stick that blends easily over the oil, enhancing that glowing look on cheeks and lips.

2. L’Occitane Memoirs of a Hand Cream Set of 8

L’Occitane is famous for making luxurious creams--but the real beauty of this set is that they come in an easy travel size which makes them stashable in a bunch of convenient places: my purse, my desk drawer, the nightstand. And since I need to replenish moisture to my hands more often than anywhere else, it’s key that I have these on-hand at all times. They all contain different ingredients that smell as well as they hydrate: shea butter, almond milk, and lavender oil do double duty. Also, they are great giftable items, if you decide you can spare a couple! Gotta admit, my husband is a fan Smiley Happy

3. philosophy 3-piece twirl on top collection

It’s time to toss the gels that I’ve been relying on over the warmer months and cozy up to a creamy body wash. I’m obsessed with this set from philosophy which comes in three very festive scents. Each can be used interchangeably as a shampoo, body wash or bubble bath, and they are rich yet gentle. It certainly doesn’t hurt that these fill my bathroom with a delicious, fresh-baked aroma.
