Calling All Bison! What's Your Alma Mater?

It’s homecoming week at my Alma Mater. It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years since I graduated from Howard University.

I found a post card that I wrote to my grandparents my first week at college. I wrote that “I liked my classes...” and that I “met a lot of nice people from all over the United States”. Washington, D.C. felt like I was a world away because I’d never been that far from home before.

But it wasn’t long before I made new friends that I would have for a lifetime.

I recently met up with my friend Kim for a spa day and lunch. I met Kim my first day at Howard when we were both assigned dorm rooms in Crandall Hall. We’ve been the best of friends ever since.

I won’t make it back to to Howard for the homecoming festivities this year, but the trip down memory lane has been just as fun!

Do you still keep in touch with any of your friends from high school or college?

See you in the AM!
