Sandra’s “Pick Me!” Bad Breath? Not anymore!

Every Thursday at QVC, we hold “Guest Class.”  Inventors, vendors, and spokespeople all have to go through a daylong training session before they are certified to go on air and present their products. Several times a year, I help out during their afternoon practice session, where they learn what it is like to stand behind the camera, where to look, and how to clearly provide information about their products.

One thing that almost always seems to surprise new guests is how close they need to stand to the host. To demonstrate, I first tell them to stand at a distance from me that feels normal. They usually move about two feet away, which is about the same distance you stand next to someone when you are having a casual chat. Then, I tell them to look at the camera monitors. They always say the same thing. “Wow! We look so far apart!” This is especially true when presenting from behind a table. You never want a lot of space between the host and guest.  So, in order to look normal to people watching at home, we basically have to stand on top of each other.

Why am I telling you all of this in a beauty blog? Because there is nothing pretty about being close to someone with bad breath. It happens all of the time and you can understand why. Hosts and guests often drink coffee to stay awake during long hours and then get in front of the camera and talk for several more hours. There is no chance to use a breath mint or take more than the occasional sip of water. That’s why I was so excited to try the new breath product by 32, a company founded by Dr. Thomas Connelly; 32 Brand Effervescent Breath Treatment Crystals Dr. Connelly runs a very successful Manhattan practice and treats people from all walks of life, including many models, actors, and executives.  A few months ago, he told me about his new product and gave me a couple of samples.

I stuck them in my bag when I went to China for QVC last month. After a 14-hour flight, I was feeling less than fresh. I opened a pack and poured it into my mouth. What a surprise! I wasn’t expecting the sensation. It feels like that candy that pops in your mouth, except the flavor is peppermint.  My mouth immediately felt fresher. Since then, I have been keeping packs at work to use before I start an on-air shift. I can put them in my mouth while I’m walking to the set or doing something else, which is far easier than going to the ladies room to use a mouth rinse while I have a mic and earpiece attached to my body.

In talking to Dr. Connelly, I’ve learned that the effervescent “pop” is one of the keys to how the product works. 32 Effervescent Breath Treatments have been clinically proven to reduce foul odor VSCs or volatile sulfur compounds.  With bad breath, you never really know when you have it. This product removes the worry. I totally recommend it!

This is part of my weekly “Pick Me!” blog where I discuss the products I am currently using and enjoying. If you have a product you would like me to review, please let me know and I will do my best.  You can leave comments here, or join the discussion on my Facebook page. Have a good week!!
