MAKE UP FOR EVER Interview Part 2: Pro Finish Preview

by on ‎09-27-2012 01:34 PM

Attention, seekers of complexion perfection! Prepare to have your makeup routine rocked by the latest foundation from MAKE UP FOR EVER. I know, I know…it seems like I’m always raving about different foundations, but that’s because I try them the most. (Don’t worry, I only tell you about the best ones!) As I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, my biggest beauty insecurity is my blemish-prone skin. No matter how well I take care of it, I’m almost always broken out. So, I’m constantly on the hunt for foundations that can help me feel more confident. This new debut does just that. It’s appropriately called Pro Finish, and I learned all about it firsthand from the lovely Lijha Stewart. Take a look at part two of our conversation:

Missy: We’ve been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Pro Finish. What can you tell me about it?
Lijha:
Pro Finish is so amazing because it’s a multi-use foundation. You can use it wet or dry, which is pretty incredible. When you use it wet, you’re going to get more of a sheer coverage. When you use it dry, you get more full coverage. The best thing about it is how it looks on. It’s beautiful and perfect for someone who wants ease of use. It comes with a sponge, which I really love. When you use the foundation wet, you literally put the sponge underneath a running faucet, squeeze it out, and make a great emulsion right on the pan of the compact. You apply it straight onto your skin and it gives you a silky, smooth finish. If you’d like, after you use it wet, you can apply it dry with a powder brush over top. If you prefer sheer coverage, just wear it wet.

I think QVC shoppers are going to love it. I’m an HD wearer, but I like a powder because I get oily and want something for touchups. Plus, the compact has a mirror in it, and I love a compact with a mirror because I can make sure my lips look good, too.

M: Does Pro Finish work on all skin types?
L:
It works best on normal to oily skin types. If you’re dry, use a nice moisturizer with it. Prep the skin, then apply.

M: What’s different about this foundation in comparison to others like it on the market?
L:
I don’t see a lot of wet/dry foundations on the market. This formula was years in the making. There were so many submissions and this is the one that was chosen. Dany is crazy with formula, so she gets right to the point, “no, that’s too sheer,” “no, that’s a weird color,” or “no, I don’t like that texture.” It’s been put through so many tests. It’s the golden ticket.

M: Our customers and the beauty industry are obsessed with your HD Invisible Cover Foundation. Does Pro Finish serve different needs?
L:
Pro Finish is for the client who wants a versatile formula that’ll give them beautiful coverage with the convenience of a compact. It’s like a security blanket in your purse. I always need a powder because I have to touch up. Lately, I’ve been using Pro Finish. I love it. With the beautiful, sheer finish it gives wet, it could even be for the tinted-moisturizer client, too. Those are the needs I think it’s most efficient for.

Pro Finish will be making its first on-air appearance during What’s in My Beauty Bag? with Program Host Mary Beth Roe on Friday, October 5 from 10am–Noon ET. Tune in to see how beautiful it looks on, how much fun it is to play with (you wouldn’t believe how wet you can get it), and, of course, to shop! Want more MAKE UP FOR EVER? They’ll be coming out with some really gorgeous holiday kits soon. More details to come…and maybe even a full-face look using all MAKE UP FOR EVER products? Let me know if you’d like to see one and what kind (i.e. natural, holiday party, etc.) and I’ll start experimenting.

Stay beautiful!
