Just a few more days until Fashion’s Night Out! Here at QVC, we’ve been getting ready for weeks. I’ll be in NYC for the big event, along with Lisa Robertson and Courtney Cason. I just had my final meetings about our plans and it sounds like it is going to be the best year yet.

This will be the fourth FNO. It started in New York in 2009 as a way to get shoppers to support the fashion industry during the tough economic times.  Each year, FNO has grown exponentially. Last year, events were held in 18 countries and there were 4,500 events here in the U.S.  Shoppers get to mingle with fashion editors and designers, celebrities, and models while seeing new fashion and taking advantage of special prices.

During our show in New York this year, Lisa and Courtney will be presenting products and talking with some our most beloved designers, including Marc Bower, Isaac Mizrahi, and Dennis Basso. You’ll also see some new faces on QVC, such as Jennifer Hudson.  I’ll be across town in the Meat Packing District at our Customer Experience event between 9^th Avenue and Hudson Street. People will be able to stop by our beautiful and elaborate outdoor space and mingle with some of QVC’s famous faces and celebs (I don’t think I’m allowed to say “who” yet).  Fashion fans will also be able to go into the Rowenta Fashion Closet and try on pieces from Nicole Richie, Lori Goldstein, and many other FNO designers. After they get fabulous, they can have their pictures taken and even upload them to Twitter and Facebook.

I started getting ready for FNO several weeks ago. I spent the weekend in New York at the Make Up For Ever studio in SoHo, shooting a piece that will run during our show. We focused on the hot hair and make-up trends for Fall 2012. I had so much fun and was able to do some pre-FNO shopping at the MUFE store. I haven’t seen the finished piece yet – hope it is good. It sure was fun shooting it!

Last week, I picked out my FNO outfit. It’s a navy dress with a lace back by Jennifer Hudson. It’s really gorgeous! I also met her stylist who you will be seeing on QVC. He gave me a few tips on what shoes to wear. Not sure if they will be comfortable, but they should look good!
