August Arrives With Some End of Summer Surprises

As Shakespeare wrote: “parting is such sweet sorrow”

The beginning of August augurs the end of another summer. This August, Ron and I will be saying goodbye to two more of our grandchildren who will be leaving for college in a few short weeks.  Sweet, as we share their continued maturation, the beginning of adulthood and their first steps towards the fulfillment of their dreams.  Sorrow, as now we will not see them as often, and as the realization hits that I will have four grandchildren in college.  I am not that old!

To make up for the end of summer, I always try to have a few surprises in store for you as a way of making this parting of another summer a “sweet sorrow”.

For those of you who scan the guide and know that I am on again on midnight August 11 (12AM on August 12), you know that means that I have another Today’s Special Value coming to you. You also know that the powers that be do not let me give you the details or discuss it in my blog until a day or two before it airs.

But, surprise number 1, my dear friend, Vanessa Williams, will be wearing it on air when she appears on the Lisa Robertson Show on August 3.

For many years, Vanessa has worn my jewelry, including QVC pieces, from day into evening, and has borrowed many pieces for the Red Carpet and other special events.  She and I have much in common—from hectic schedules, traveling often in pursuit of our careers, while, at the same time, raising our children.  We are often ships passing in the night.  But, from time to time, when we find ourselves in the same City, with a few hours to spare, we catch up and like girls everywhere, talk and share secrets.  Vanessa is lovely, kind, caring and generous.

One of her secrets that she has shared with me is her skin care regimen.  Like me, she is constantly in the public eye, has to endure wearing heavy make up for the camera, travels often in airplanes with their dry air, is under great stress and does not get enough sleep—all of which ravage her skin.  As a result of years in the public eye, from Miss America to her latest television series’ successes, she has had access to the very best doctors, aestheticians and beauty experts from around the world.  And, like me, she has suffered from bad skin.  Yet, today, her skin is flawless and always looks great.  I asked her the secrets to her super skin.  She started sending me her serums and creams that she had formulated especially for her by world famous doctors and skin experts, the best of the best.  It worked wonders.  For those of you who have speculated on my improving appearance, it was not a face lift, but a combination of losing weight and surprise number 2, Vanessa’s special skin care products.

Surprise number 3, is that Vanessa is bringing these secrets to beautiful skin to QVC with the debut of her first secret product, her anti-aging skin repair serum.  It is one of the ones I use daily and it works.  If it works for me and Vanessa with our skin and harsh schedules, it will work for you.  Anti-aging, I’ll say.  Do I look like I have four grandchildren in college?

If you tune in to watch Vanessa on August 3 at 10PM (EST), you can also see several other surprises as she will be wearing many of my brand new pieces that I will be bringing to you on August 12.

On August 11, I will be discussing these new pieces in greater detail in my blog.  But for those of you who cannot wait, you can get an early August surprise and see them on Vanessa on August 3 on the Lisa Robertson Show.  And try Vanessa’s anti-aging serum.  I did and you have seen the results.

All my best,

Judith
