All Access Beauty: How Do They Do It? Part 2

by on ‎04-09-2012 12:47 PM

The models are one of the most crucial elements in beauty shows. Without them, we wouldn't be able to show you how that foundation glides onto your skin, the ease of making up an effortless face, and the tips of the trade that are hot and on-trend right now. Without the models, we can talk a lot about the products, but with them we can show you.

Honestly, I don't know how our models do it. If you've ever pulled an all-nighter, you know how difficult it can be. Most of our models are veterans who have many beauty events under their belts, but even for a professional, the hours can be brutal.

You've seen the numbers from Day 1 of this blog. Many of the models are used in airings throughout the day, so they might be in every other show for 25 hours straight! Now picture having to wash your face every other hour, having another full face of makeup applied as you're exhausted and want to rub your eyes, having your hair washed, dried and styled every couple of hours, and when you go on air, having to keep alert and awake, and suppress the inevitable yawns, all while smiling and keeping your model poise.

Beauty Model Enjoying Downtime

I'm exhausted just writing about it.

But all in all, the models are amazing people who gear up for this day the same way we all do—sleep, sleep, and more sleep. (You can ask any of them, it's their not-so-secret weapon.) I hope the girls are stocking up on their beauty sleep now!
