Of course flipping on the TV and seeing all those beautiful faces and magnificent products might look easy. But have you ever wondered what a glimpse behind the scenes looks like? Crazy. Manic. Overwhelming. These are just some of the words that describe the circus that takes place behind the cameras—the world that rarely gets shown to you.

There is a breath of sanity in the day, though—the fashion stylists.

I spoke with Bobby, one of the seasoned fashion stylists and a pro when it comes to wrangling models on beauty events. He shared some thoughts with me on how this difficult, but rewarding day goes off without a hitch.

“It really is a day that highlights the best of best,” shares Bobby. And he's right. Our vendors work with top industry executives and A-list celebrity clienteles. And we (as a QVC team) work hard to bring their expertise directly into your home. "All Access Beauty is all about bringing out the best in yourself," Bobby explains. "It's about helping you feel the best you can feel."

The stylists make sure that the models check in, find their vendors, and are ready to go on air in time for their shows, most of this within minutes of going live into thousands of homes. This might sound simple, but add in the sheer volume of models on the day, multiply it with the vendors and their teams, last-minute model replacements and requests, lack of sleep, and the rush of excitement that comes with live TV, and you have a recipe for exhaustion.

Of course, it has its perks too. “All Access Beauty is a great opportunity to be in a close environment with the models and vendors and it helps foster personal relationships that you wouldn't make anywhere else,” Bobby says. “Plus, you have access to beauty trends that support and translate into fashion trends, which is crucial to my work as a stylist. I know what's going to be the hottest colors and hair styles because I can ask the trend makers themselves!”

Despite the chaos backstage, calm, cool, and collected models are presented on air, with no small thanks to the fashion stylists who are the almighty peacekeepers of the day. The end result is a stellar live presentation that showcases the QVC talent we have!
