We always talk about the balance in nature, but there's also a balance in fashion. For each trend there's a "counter-trend." For every tight, there's a loose, for every high heel, there's a low, and for every bright, there's a neutral. It's the how you combine the elements and how you finish your look with a specific detail that make your look current and fresh, so there are always options that'll work for you.
This season, the balance comes from bright color blocking and it's counterweighted with light neutrals. I am, of course, drawn to the neutrals (and I'm sure I already have a number of things that'll work for this season), but I'll dabble a little in the color, just to broaden my horizons. (After all, it's a great reason to go shopping.)
Recently, QVC was in New York for Fashion Week and the opening of the CFDA Exhibit "Impact" that celebrates their 50th Anniversary. (I just ordered the book, very excited.) During the launch party, Amy was able to sit down with a number of top names in the world of fashion design and get their take on the color trends for spring. Here's what they had to say:
I feel affirmed. So with the fashion experts like Chris, Patrick, and Zac agreeing on our two primary color palettes, you can get started by looking in your closet to see what you have that'll work for the spring/summer season. Then, tune in to The Lisa Robertson Show this Friday night, and we'll show you a few more pieces to help pull it all together. We have a look called "Green with Envy" featuring a gorgeous dress by Geren Ford and a necklace from Amrita Singh. We also have a look called "Color Story," which mixes purple and orange with pieces from Geren Ford and Isaac Mizrahi. And we also have a look called "White Wash" that's the light neutrals story with a GILI top. I've included photos below. Don't you love these "look" outfits? They make life so much easier!
See you Friday night at 10pm ET. Then, stay tuned at 11pm ET for Friday Night Beauty with philosophy, Dalton, and more. Want to find out what's happening on PM Style this Monday? Check out Gabrielle Kerr's blog on QVC.com.
See you soon!

P.S. Josie Maran's joining us on Friday's LRS and not only is she bringing us her amazing Argan Oil, but she's donating 10% of whatever proceeds she makes to charity, in honor of Earth Day. Isn't she incredible?
