If you’ve ever used whitening strips and experienced sensitivity or wished they would just work faster, you’ll definitely want to give the GO SMiLE system a try. It’s so easy to use: simply apply the serum in the ampoules and use the light for 10 minutes. Repeat the process twice more until you’ve used three tubes of gel and completed three passes with the light (it beeps when each “pass” is over).
I’ve used the GO SMiLE light before, but the double-action ampoules offer brand-new technology where two complementary formulas — a whitener and a liquid that activates and “supercharges” it — are mixed right before being applied to your teeth. Combined, they produce whitening ions that penetrate deeply into teeth and remove accumulated stains. The light device speeds up the whitener so you get noticeable results in just one treatment (badly stained teeth may need more than one treatment to reach your desired level of whiteness, but you should start to see improvement right away).
Here are some tips on using the system:
- When squeezing the ampoule to release the serum, point the applicator up. Once “popped,” turn the tube upside down and wait until the applicator tip is fully saturated almost to the point of dripping before applying.
- Massage serum into the enamel in a circular motion. Spend several seconds on each tooth — even more for teeth that are more discolored. Continue squeezing the ampoule where it’s marked “2” as you apply to keep the serum flowing.
- To reduce saliva and increase the amount of time serum comes into contact with enamel, you can insert a small roll of cotton or gauze to hold your lips away from your teeth.
- Detach the mouthpiece to clean in soap and water or soak in mouthwash. Use an antibacterial wipe to clean the rest of the device.
