Summer…Summer…Summertime

It’s summertime! I love mostly everything that summer has to offer…lazy beach weekends, cookouts, peach cobbler, bright nail polish on my fingers and toes. The one thing I don’t like is the constant heat and humidity. When I lived in San Francisco, summers felt like winters, and without seasons, my makeup routine could stay the same. But now that I’ve been back on the East Coast for a few years, I make sure my makeup routine is simple and summery when the temperature rises.

A constant in my routine? bareMinerals Matte Foundation. I swear, I fall back in love with our foundation every single day. It’s just that good! I love the way it blends onto my skin and gives me coverage without feeling too heavy. I’ve been using the Soft Focus Face Brush and putting on about two light layers of foundation. 

Following foundation, I do a few layers of Mineral Veil. This ensures my makeup will look fresh and stay put all day. I like to layer Original Mineral Veil and Bronzing Mineral Veil (this was brand new and sold out in our May shows…those of you that got it are lucky, ’cause it rocks).

Other steps are simple and keep my skin glowing with the right kind of glow. For cheeks, I’m usually reaching for Vintage Peach blush or Pure Radiance. I love a pop of pink sometimes, so I’ve been digging Floret blush from the new upcoming Face Fashion collection.Prime Time Primer Shadows

For eyes, I’m loving the fresh, modern look of just one color on the lower lid. Highshine Eyecolors are perfect for this (Rose Gold is my new fave). AND, drum roll please...introducing our brand new Prime Time Primer Shadows. I’m completely obsessed with these lightweight, airy eyelid primers and intense color all packed into one tube of goodness. These little gems will come in six colors to start — you’re going to love them. And they don’t budge once you put them on. Your look will last all day, even through heat and humidity. After that, I throw on a little Flawless Definition Mascara and my favorite Buxom gloss or Pretty Amazing of the moment and I’m ready for whatever my summer day brings to me.

Some other things I’m really digging this summer: maxi dresses (this is the simplest summer outfit there could ever be); huge rings (the chunkier the better); huge sunglasses; sunscreen; frozen yogurt; Avalon, NJ; and the list goes on and on…
