Welcome to the BE Blog! San Fran Visit & My New Way to Wear Pretty Amazing

It’s my first official Bare Escentuals blog post! I’m so happy I have a place to discuss products, looks, beauty trends, and anything else that is on my mind. Hopefully you’ll learn a little bit about me and vice versa. So…I just returned home from a much-needed visit to our BE San Francisco office. I must tell you, I miss San Fran so much! I lived out there for four years before returning to the East Coast to be closer to my family and friends. During my four years out west, I became part of the BE family, and it was during the crazy, fun times. We were growing so quickly — we moved into what I call our “big girl office” (which was a HUGE improvement from our not-so-nice, messy, small office on Bush St.), Buxom lip gloss didn’t even exist yet, and we were building a huge community of customers that were spreading the word about bareMinerals.

The years have flown by, and I’m amazed at how far we’ve come. I always look forward to my visits to the office and being back in that creative, unique environment. It reconnects me, refocuses me, and gets me so excited for what is to come. Plus…there is makeup everywhere you look! It’s probably the most fun to look around the product development area — they have these giant magnetic boards that house every eye color, blush, liner, shadow, gloss, etc. ever made. (I didn’t even think about taking photos…but I promise I will next time I’m out there!) I always find a few old shades on that board that I fall back in love with…then I come home and search for them in my never-ending vat of makeup.

Anyways, we had a great few days of meetings, and the QVC buying team was out to visit and see what we have in store for Spring 2012. And let me tell you, we’ve got some really cool stuff. Can’t wait to share it all with you guys, but for now my lips are sealed (sorry!!!). Don’t worry, though; we have plenty to talk about with all the fun products coming out this summer and fall.

So, I already love Pretty Amazing Lipcolor.

BUT, I have a new favorite way to wear it this summer. I’m super into the look of stained lips, and Pretty Amazing is the perfect product to achieve this look. I apply a large dollop of it in the center of both my upper and lower lips, then I use my finger to work the product towards the outer corners. I really press the product in, and the result is a soft, stained lip look that lasts all day. It’s pretty great — try it! Use any color you’d like, but my faves are Ambition and Strength. They're so bright and fun. I put a few on my hand so you see the effect of “staining” it out.
