A Passion For Shoes and an Orthaheel TSV!

Diamond encrusted heels!  Silk wrapped ankle straps! Flower embroidered vamps!  I think that secretly (or not so secretly), most of us have a passion for shoes.  Sometimes we buy because of the look, and sometimes because of the price.  If I asked you what the Most Extraordinary Shoe in the World would be, what would you say?  Would it be from a very expensive designer brand?  Perhaps that Birkenstock that you've had for years since college which holds so many memories that you simply can't part with it.  For me, it would be one word... Orthaheel.  A shoe that not only looks stylish, but can actually change the way your foot works.  A shoe that can change the relationship between your heel, your ankles, your knees, and your life.  If you haven't heard the latest, Orthaheel is a company with very humble beginnings that has become a literal shoe juggernaut in just one year, and has taken QVC by storm.  I think it's because something as simple as a shoe can really change your life (insert Cinderella joke here).

My story is like many stories out there.  I found out in eighth grade that I had "flat feet".  I could see the relationship between my fallen arches, and how it made my knees look they were turned in, but I wouldn't realize for 20 years that there would be an actual shoe to address that.  My Mom took me to a podiatrist, and we had very expensive arch supports made.  They weren't comfortable.  They didn't fit into my shoes.  I felt like I always had to buy up a size to get them to work, and then they slid around.  Plus, the biggest issue for me is that I couldn't wear sandals or flip-flops.  Being a girl in high school and going to the beach without the summer uniform flip-flop made me feel awkward.  The few times I tried to wear them, my arches would ache during the day.  For years I just resigned myself to the fact that I would never have the feet that I wanted.

Then, about four years ago, I made a discovery online about a shoe called Orthaheel.  I read about it, and was skeptical.  I had already tried every new-fangled thing that came down the line, and was always disappointed.  But, I saw that they were recommended by Dr. Weil.  I knew who he was, and there was something about his happy, white bearded face that reminded me of Santa Claus, and I trusted him.  I ordered my first pair of flip-flops in black.  As soon as I slipped them on, I swear I could hear the angels singing.  They felt silly at first, actually making me giggle, because the sensation was so different from anything I had tried before.  But it wasn't until I went to the mirror and saw the shape of my leg that I truly became a fan of the brand.  I actually saw the angles of my leg change, just like the demonstration on the model, Joy, that you can see live on TV.  I called my mother, and told her how excited I was, and how I had just found the answer I had been looking for for years.  Since then, I have purchased 15 pairs of Orthaheel shoes (mostly flip-flops), and have no plans of stopping now.  I wear them into QVC every day, and only change into my heels right before going on the air.

I'm so excited that we have a new Orthaheel TSV for fall in a silhouette that I already own (in two different colors!), with a new pattern and new colors.  This shoe is the perfect transitional shoe, because it slips on easily like a sandal, but the toes are covered.  Also, the leaf pattern is just perfect for fall.  Then, as the weather gets colder, you can slip on a sock, and change the fit very easily with the adjustable hook and loop closure.  I know I have talked about having lower arches, but there's a greater story here.  Whether your arches are lower or higher, you can achieve benefits because of the ingenious way the shoes have been designed.  Now, let's be honest.  I don't think that many of us will be throwing away all of our heels and dressy shoes anytime soon.  We do need those for events or special occasions.  But my life, will truly be lived in Orthaheel......the Most Extraordinary Shoe in the World.
