I live to continue my family’s legacy

I knew I would never be a doctor, lawyer or fireman by the time I was 11.  Being a shoe guy is all I ever wanted to be!  I grew up fully immersed in shoes.  My father Jerome Fisher created Nine West so you could say that shoes are in my DNA.  He’s the driving forced behind my career and has also inspired my own three children.

Growing up in footwear factories gave me an understanding of the whole process as a result my company is filled with people that live for shoes and have the same drive as I do to design and produce modern classics.  There is honestly a science and art to it all!

In the early 80’s, my studies brought me to Brazil where I learned the art of shoe making.   While there I held just about every job in the business from design to production to selling.  There I learned about the relationship that women have to with their footwear.

Since then I have had so much to be proud of from getting my first real job in charge of the private label division of my father’s company to working with some of the world’s most recognized brands in building their footwear business to the day that each of my children got into the business and joined the company.

34 years later my love for the industry has never wavered.  Just like my dad, I now travel 6 months of the year - I’m on a never-ending journey for the perfect shoe.  I could easily take a backseat when it comes to travel but being able to touch the leathers and materials adds so much more dimension to the experience and keeps me driven to create footwear that not only flatters but also lasts.

The best formula for success came from my father, who encouraged me to work hard, keep it simple, be inspired and stay curious.  I continue to push forward and those words as a reminder as to how far I’ve come!
