Kitchen renovation updates, my take on music's biggest night and PM Style talk

by on ‎02-11-2013 12:29 PM

Well I hope that you aren’t busy right now, because I’ve got a lot to talk about and lot for you to look forward to!

I don’t know about you but I loved the biggest award for music last night.  My music bill was well over $20 by the time I got done downloading all of these new songs.  Can we talk about Kelly Clarkson’s performance last night?!  O-M-Gosh… a rendition of Patti Page and Carole King was perfect for her and she did it justice!  My boyfriend is from Tennessee and when Kelly started singing the Tennessee Waltz… he stopped working and turned it up and smiled… it was so precious.  As much as we love our life in Philadelphia, it was nice to have a moment that reminded us so much of home.  How about Justin Timberlake bringing sexy back?  Loved his retro look and sound.  Last thing I will say is that I am so proud Bonnie Raitt who won her 10th Grammy last night.   The first concert I ever attended with my parent’s was hers and it rained the whole time… which made all that soul-singin’ so much better/

Big news in the kitchen this week: IT’S FINALLY FINISHED!!  After two weeks of renovations we finally have full use of the kitchen and things are a little less dusty.  It’s funny how dust ends up everywhere and some of the most unusual places.  I felt really bad for the cats during the reno because they were so afraid of the noise and everything going on downstairs it caused them to stay under the bed most of the time these past two weeks.  Never fear, with our beautiful kitchen now intact they are back to doing what they do best… sleeping on the couch.

Oh!  I need your advice; the next phase of our kitchen reno is choosing tile and backsplash.  We went to a tile store this weekend and I was so overwhelmed by the process and couldn’t begin to grasp how people choose.  So my question to you is: Do you grab a contrasting color? Go in the same color as your countertops or cabinets?  It’s exhausting to think about because it’s at least a live-with-it-20-year decision for me {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I hope that you are following along with me for my 28 day style challenge.  Every day I am posting a new style question that you can answer on my Facebook page, Courtney Cason QVC or on the community.  If you have any questions, ask me on my Facebook page since I cannot respond within the community.  Here’s this past week summed up in a few pictures.

BIG NEWS:  I’m going to Dennis Basso’s 30th anniversary runway show in NYC!  This is a huge year for him not only with his couture collection but a big 20 years at QVC as well! I will be hanging with him backstage at his runway show AND a few familiar faces as well.  Follow me on FB for all of the updates.  I will be taking pics of the runway and will be posting an album for you to get close to all of the action!

This week on PM Style, my heart belongs to Marc Bouwer again.  I just can’t. Help. Myself.  The man knows what he is doing with his beautiful NEW clothes he is bringing to QVC. I’m going to be wearing a brand new top from him that honestly makes me feel like I should be on an island, enjoying a sunset, hair parted to one side, long lashes, and a bold lip.  LOVING the top for spring so you will not want to miss it.  OH, and if you love a little shoulder and floral… just you wait ;-).

Last thing, I will be getting fitted for my BUZZ ON THE RED CARPET dress before PM Style and once again I will be needing YOUR help to help me pick out a dress for our big party.  The legendary and oh so famous A-list stylist Jen Raid will be helping myself and Amy so be on the lookout for updates.

See you soon!
