Did you ever see a movie, a play or a baseball game that left you feeling an incredible euphoric high? Well high is what I’m feeling right now! It’s not simply because I’m writing this article from 38,000 feet in the air on a flight back from Zurich. It’s because I’m so thrilled to share with you the hottest trends that I’ve just experienced at the Basel Jewelry Fair! Truth is though, that if you’ve been watching QVC jewelry shows, you may have seen some of these trends already emerging. The reason is the amazing QVC jewelry buying team, who I’ve just spent days with combing the fair.  Here are some of the trends that we saw, as well as some of the pieces coming up on March 30^th that illustrate the freshest new trends and styles that are hot right now. Let me know if you’ve noticed these trends starting to emerge:

Color: Color is everywhere in fashion right now and jewelry designers are complimenting that trend by designing in all the colors of the rainbow! What’s your favorite color and colored gemstone? Did you know that diamonds are available in many different colors?  Whether you’re looking to create a monochromatic look, by matching your outfit color with gems, or create contrast by juxtaposing color, gems make it easy to do this with your jewelry. Elements from the Past: Just as people are looking for inspiration they are also seeking the comfort and familiarity of elements from the past. In fact, years ago as a jewelry designer I took a lot of inspiration from antique pieces. Whether that inspiration is rooted in Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau or Art Deco, designers are taking elements from those periods and bringing them to life in modern designs.
