A Strong & Sexy Season Finale! This Friday on LRS!

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you see strong?  Do you see sexy? I think sometimes we think we have to choose. And I think sometimes "strong" can be confused with not looking feminine, but I disagree. When I think with the fashion of today, we can be both, and if we want to be our best, we should embrace it.

They say you never have a second chance to make a first impression, and  a lot of that first impression is the visual of how we "carry" ourselves, and what we wear.

Let’s start with the attitude. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my job, (but really mostly from my mother), it’s the power of posture. It’s amazing how confident you look if you sit up straight and put your shoulders back. This automatically makes you look taller, forces you to pull in your tummy, so you look thinner, and makes your shoulders look broader, so you look more shapely. It also makes you look very confident and in-command of any situation.

Next, smile. You can combat being uncomfortable, nervous, and even annoyed if you just smile. You’ll look like someone people want to talk to, (and ironically, younger). {#emotions_dlg.biggrin} Finally, "take a beat."  Meaning, think for one more second before you speak. Intelligence and confidence go hand-in-hand. Knowing what you want to say will make you sound confident, jumping in before you're sure and verbally wandering around, will do the opposite. These seem like little things, but if you haven't tried them in awhile, I think you'll be surprised at what a difference they make.

Now, the outfit. It's important to dress for the accomplished woman you are now, not the girl you used to be. We all know that what works at one age does not necessarily work at another (and obviously, it varies by person)! It's also important to dress in something that makes you comfortable. If you aren't comfortable, you'll constantly be distracted and unable to focus on what's important. This is something we've all done from time to time and it never turns out well! Finally, wearing something that fits well is really important. If something is too tight, it will make you look bigger, and if it's too loose, it looks like you're trying to cover something up. The right fit, (and a shaper if you need it), goes a long way.

This Friday, on The Lisa Robertson Show, we have four outfits that might help you bring out your strong and sexy self. The first two looks use a great Mark Zunino top with an asymmetrical neckline. The third showcases an animal-print top from the confident Kris Jenner. And the fourth features a gorgeous ruffled top from Geren Lockhart.
