Howdy-do, fans of the Q!

Feet are freezing, sun is out, and spring is in the air. It's like one big dichotomy...like lobster macaroni and cheese. The combination of things that you don't expect. Am burning apple spice candles like it's Christmas, and currently cranking gas fireplace at 3 in afternoon 'cause it's frigid in my house (wonder if it's because I keep thermo at 66 degrees?!). Even though I am looking at forecast later this week and it says it will be mid-60s in Philly, this has categorically been the most bizarre winter for us. I didn't get my snow dump I hoped for, and 50s in January, in Northeast—it's like Mother Nature is having a midlife crisis. Makes me worry so for our planet and environment.

Went to chiropractor today. I'm in kinda bad shape. Far too young to have this many kinks and cracks and pains. Could always be worse so I'll stop waxing on. I do find it very gratifying (albeit slightly scary as all get-out) when Mr. Chiro Man takes my head in his hands, and suddenly twists and proceeds to snap and then—CRACK! about nine vertebrae in my neck. Imagine if you tensed up at the wrong time during that and got really hurt? I try not to think about that during it. Love my chiro and I put my healing hope in him.

Getting a little peckish (that's British for 'hungry.') Had breakfast late today, around 11am. Ate my new addiction—Guiltless Gourmet veggie burgers (M27759), topped with two sunny-side-up eggs. OMGosh, there are no words other than order these non-burger burgers in bulk (or go on lifetime auto-delivery like me). Ugh, they are insanely good and actually wildly healthy. Crunchy: Almost like a fried rice patty but without the grease or salt or bad stuff. I could eat them 24/7...in fact, I do.

Going into work tonight for Tuesday Night Beauty. How do you like that new show? Aren't we presenting the most awesome stuff and brands? (Um, wait, realize I'm biased.) But seriously, tonight we are launching Sephora by OPI Spring into Summer nail polishes. I only use OPI on my toes because the enamel lasts virtually forever without chipping. Also, since a lot of you ask how I look tan in winter: Doris Dalton, baby! And she's finally bringing back her big awesome bronzer compact for the body A227086. It's our One Time Only tonight, in a shade called Golden Pearl. I use it all over my arms, shoulders, and décolleté...even my legs. OH! And tonight we have my fave brand, philosophy...which by the way, such awesome stuff coming down the pipeline from them on TNB, including (back from the vault) the philosophy men's fragrance (A222551) called amen. I love the name. It's making a comeback on the Q and I have a special person in my life that I can't wait to turn into my fragrance guinea pig. (I adore a delicious scent on a man...)

Scent is so powerful in terms of its attachment to the brain and emotions and memories. There is a hairspray that every time I smell it, I think of middle school and living in Mexico. And today at a gift shop, where I was buying a birthday gift for Maria McCool from the Calista Grand Tools line, the owner was wearing Chanel—that's what my Mom wears. Speaking of Mom, her birthday is March 23 and I'm majorly stumped.

Just bought the coolest thing for myself, though—ladybug car magnets. First discovered them at an arty little boutique in Cape Cod over the summer and bought two for friends. Now just ordered more for my car. Ladybugs, as you probably know, are very special to me (if you don't know why, you might check out my website (www.shawnkillinger.com). They are like a sign from God for me. ANYWAY, maybe I'll get my Mom some...I think she would dig that because she loves ladybugs for the same reason I do. (See "Jen's Story" on my website to learn more.)

Isaac was a complete hoot last night on our Fashion Day show. And he has the most insanely awesome handbags launching this fall. It's a whole new collection: upscale, premium leather, tassels, and inspired by his couture designs. He also has killer riding boots for fall (even though right now all you can think of are sandals, probably!). Think I'm gonna order his quilted jacket (a219687). Need a casual little comfy chic jacket for spring that isn't a denim jacket with ripped seams.

Some big news: I think I may be hosting Nicole Richie's debut show soon. (By the way, I hear Nicole is writing her third novel and is launching a fragrance in the fall at retail—so busy!). Then, later this month, there's two TSV's I am literally setting my alarms and datebook for: March 22, the Orthaheel metallic bejeweled thong sandal (absolutely darling and great for my bad feet) and Lori Goldstein on March 29 (I'm ordering every color). And on March 17, Saturday Morning Q is featuring Irish items. Have you ever been to Ireland? Magical. I'm not Irish per se, but who cares. The green pastures, the sheep grazing, the rocky coastline, the little pubs (the Guinness factory tour!), and the divine Irish accent. (Confession: I'm slightly addicted to accents.)

So back to my Mom (who is addicted to her iPad...who knew, she's 72!). She sent me a note about a book she wants me to read, and I can't wait to download it:
Miracle for Jen: A Tragic Accident, a Mother's Desperate Prayer, and Heaven's Extraordinary Answer. I love books like this: Filled with hope, miracles, and real-life stories of remarkable comebacks and God signs. Apparently it's the unbelievable story of a 15-year-old girl injured in a car accident with her family who suffered severe brain damage and memory loss, but when she woke up from a coma, despite the doctors' predictions, though she remembered not even her middle name, she could quote every scripture verse, and every line from a praise song. God is good, and life is strange and also beautiful. Complex and yet sweetly simple, if we will let it be. Sadness makes me think of my great friend Kathy who lives in Chardon, OH where the tragic school shooting just took place a few weeks ago. Because Kathy used to be a counselor at the middle school, she knew so many of the folks at the high school. Oh, how life is full of tragedy, yet somehow when you can't imagine it, somewhere there is a glimmer of sun that peeks through. Kathy said the town has been in shock and yet there are already so many blessings that have come as a result of their ordeal.

Final thought: Movies I am really wanting to see but was too lazy or busy to actually see in the theater—War Horse, Hugo, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. How come it takes so dang long for movies to get from the theater to On Demand? Grrr. I also hope you are having fun tuning in each Tuesday for Anything Goes with Rick & Shawn at 10pm ET. Stay tuned: word has it Carnie Wilson from Wilson Phillips is making a cameo soon. Plus, if you friend us on Facebook, we could pick your name to announce as our "Fan of the Week." We might even call you live on air! Well, that is if you would like to talk to us. If not, I understand. We are a little crazy sometimes.

Talk to you again soon—
