There was a time in my life when I lived literally on the water. I had just met my husband to be and he lived on a boat that was, shockingly, bigger than my tiny beach side apartment (mine was actually half of a converted basement, I could touch all the walls If I stretched out far enough.) I called my husband from San Diego on the second night of the Susan G. Komen 3-day Walk for Breast Cancer . I was doing my now well-practiced routine of soaking my feet after each 20-mile day and inspecting for blisters and potential problems that could take me out of the walk the next day. I always had the right shoes and socks and always slathered my feet in petroleum jelly each day so blisters weren't going to take me out of the game like they did so many walkers each year. The surprise hit on my Christmas list last year was the HALO. I bought a whole bunch for the ever difficult “man” gifts and then one in pink leopard for myself. I hear the guys use them all the time, but let’s be honest; I am more concerned about me. It's a lifesaver!!!
