Yoga Tips for Beginners

Last Reply by melswen 1422725635.837 | Started by Kerstin Lindquist in Denim & Co, Health & Fitness, Hosts & Personalities

I started practicing yoga long ago, and though I do lots of other types of workouts, I always come back to yoga as something that grounds me, that "gets rid of the crazy." It has a way of unwinding you, of making you look inward, and give you a sense of calm that last the rest of the day. It doesn't have to be intimidating--it's truly something for EVERYONE. Here are a few tips that will hopefully get you as excited as I am about yoga. Please remember, you can ask me questions any time on my Facebook page, and post pictures of your progress to help motivate us all! XO, Kerstin 1. Keep ... Continue Reading

Healthier Popcorn Toppings

I don't know if it gets any better than movie night at home with the family. There's no better feeling than cuddling up all together, and putting on a classic film. Popcorn is a must, but it's fun to play around with different toppings. Set out a couple of different bowls, and have a taste test! My mom always made me popcorn with cheese sprinkles and M&Ms. I've been trying a few new topping ideas that are actually kind of good for you too! Hope you like :) Visit me on my Facebook page, and let me know which one you like best! XO, Kerstin Lemony Kale Popcorn Ingredients: ½... Continue Reading

The 2014 West Chester Christmas Parade

Started by Kerstin Lindquist in The Q We Love, Hosts & Personalities, Among Friends 1419271547.347

On a cold, rainy Friday night a couple of weeks ago, I took to the streets of historic downtown West Chester, PA to act as the “social host” for the Mars Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade presented by QVC. The weather may have been nasty, but the company and the experience was an incredible experience to connect with our local neighbors. The event featured marching bands from local colleges and high schools, spectacular floats, and the arrival of the one and only…SANTA CLAUS! According to USA Today, our annual parade is one of the top ten places in the country to experience the... Continue Reading

The Story Behind My Cross Necklace

I can't even remember when my mom gave it to me. It’s one of those things a grown up gives you that mean so much to them, but in the self-centered haze of youth, means a forced "thanks" to you. I didn't think about it much, but it made it through eight moves in ten years. It survived every time I cleaned out and got rid of things that didn't mean enough to pack up and move on to the new chapter; but it didn't get worn regularly until I started working at QVC. Part of that is because my faith became even more important to me when I got to the east coast. I had a great church in San Di... Continue Reading

Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Last Reply by prophet 1418348258.543 | Started by Kerstin Lindquist in Cookie Exchange, Hosts & Personalities, Holiday Advice

I like to eat gluten-free, and I'm always on the lookout for good recipes. But the key for me, as a non-cook, is that is has to be EASY! These cookies fit the bill, and taste so yummy. Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies Ingredients: 1 cup white sugar 1 cup peanut butter 1 egg 18 milk chocolate candy kisses, unwrapped Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Combine sugar, peanut butter, and egg. 3. Shape into 1 inch balls and place on un-greased cookie sheet. NOTE: If dough is too sticky, refrigerate 1/2 hour or until easy to handle. 4. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove ... Continue Reading

5 Ways to Teach Your Children Thankfulness

Last Reply by vinedawgz 1417281091.667 | Started by Kerstin Lindquist in Hosts & Personalities, Holiday Advice, Mom to Mom Blogs

The amount of gifts my kids get this time of year borders on gluttony. Even at five they seem to expect that if they want it, they will get it...and then some... from Santa and the dozens of generous family members who adore them. I feel like it’s a consolation that at least my girls say thank you, most of the time, before ripping open the next shiny box.  As a woman who values gratitude to our Lord up there with kindness and honesty, I really try to teach my girls to be thankful and show gratitude to those around us and generosity to everyone. I’ve put together 5 tips fo... Continue Reading

A Day with 8,000 Women

Last Reply by rrpell 1415050070.183 | Started by Kerstin Lindquist in Hosts & Personalities, Q News, Mom to Mom Blogs

What do you get when you put Jane Pauley, Diane Keaton, Robin Roberts and 8,000 women in one convention center?  Okay, so I’m not sure, but it’s what just happened in Philly last month, and it was fabulous! It was the Pennsylvania Women’s Conference and I was thrilled to be invited as a part of the QVC Sprouts program, along with my fitness bud; Albany Irvin. With us, more than 60 QVC women at director level or above got to take part in the day, which included seminars regarding social media, branding, stress management, and philanthropy, just to name a few.  ... Food & Cooking in the Lindquist Household

Last Reply by baker 1415061409.573 | Started by Kerstin Lindquist in Kitchen & Food Talk, Hosts & Personalities, Mom to Mom Blogs

When I tell the story of how my husband Dan and I met, I usually mention he was living in a boat. What good California girl could resist a guy with a house on the water? In the next seven months before he proposed, I fell in love with his love of the water, his humor, his dancing, his hair… but what really sealed the deal for me was the way he cooked.  I don’t really cook…like really at all.  I can make brownies from a box; an important skill, but not really a skill right? So when Dan confessed his love for cooking my basic instincts kicked in and I snatched... Continue Reading

2 Busy Working Parents, 2 Little Girls, 4 iPad Users

We are definitely an iPad family. We're careful about what we let the girls use it for, and for how long, but I have to say, it's been a very welcome technology addition to our home. Today's Special Value, the 16GB iPad, is just that...a huge value opportunity for those who want to bring an iPad home, for WAY less. Husbands, wives, kids, grandparents, grandkids...it's really a gift for everyone and everyone has their own favorite ways to use it! My in-laws gave my girls their old iPad when they upgraded, so that the kids had an iPad to play games on and watch movies on…when they were... Continue Reading

The Comforts of Home

We live in a tiny farm house built in 1800. It's like a 1500 sq ft dollhouse; low ceilings and small rooms spread out on three floors. But it is cozy and has charm. The kitchen leads to the dining room leads to the living room. All in a horse shoe around my favorite space: the big outdoor patio and yard. We've never had land or property, and it is quite peaceful and freeing. Since the home is small my girls share a room, and we are all in close quarters. But it's a cheery, beachy home on the inside that really reflects what's most important to me... Family. I will always consider myself a Cali... Continue Reading
