My kids are losing their minds! Granted they are four and five years old so that’s not a new thing in our home, but right now they are planted in front of the television watching Nancy Hornbeck sing, "Let It Go", singing a chorus of “I want it now!!!” right along with her.
Grace & Georgia are used to seeing mommy on TV. As infants they watched me, swaddled in their daddy’s arms, early in the morning, while I delivered the morning weather for ABC news. Now they occasionally catch me on Q check or Saturday Morning Q when I’m on QVC. It’s... Continue Reading

There’s my dad who gave me life,
and another who helped raise me.
There’s my uncle who became more like a father when he stepped in and became one to me more than thirty years ago.
And there is the daddy who I gave that title when I placed our baby girl in his arms five years ago this week.
Dad’s day for me, has never been simple.
A child of divorce, I have learned over the years to see the good that came out of that sad ending of a family. I've had two men to influence my life at different times growing up, and two to love me.
Two men ... Continue Reading

I had the most fabulous, funny, loving and well-dressed roommate for seven months.
My cousin Katie moved into our house in October after leaving the family on the west coast and moving to this foreign land of Pennsylvania for a job in beauty at QVC. Katie and I weren’t close before. She is really a second cousin or a first cousin twice removed or some odd familial algorithm no one can even really figure out. But, family is family and I knew from my aunt and uncle (also her aunt and uncle, not her mom and dad, can someone tell me what that makes her to me?... Continue Reading

I remember the first time a clip of me showed up on a certain evening cable show that makes fun of such clips of TV programs from the week before. I was presenting flameless candles at 2 am and apparently the host found my affection for soft lighting humorous. He also managed to simultaneously hit on me while making fun of my dress. I’ll admit, I laughed; it was funny. Within hours all the under 30’s, ex-boyfriends and hip people in my life (not implying at all, that ex-boyfriends are also hip people) were texting me and posting to Facebook and giving me virtual high fives. A... Continue Reading

I always get asked if our QVC guests and hosts are really as nice in person as they seem on TV. In Susan Graver’s case the answer is that she is even nicer in person!
I happened to see a Christmas day segment on Susan and her family filmed at her little beach getaway. A couple months later I asked her where it was and how she liked it since my family still hadn’t found the beach location on this coast that we feel a strong connection with. We got to talking and next thing I know she is offering up her place for me to take my hubby for his 40th birthday!&n... Continue Reading

I've been putting off writing this post because I knew that seeing it in black and white would be painful. We've been trying to expand our family for the past couple years, and we finally came to a place where our last chance has passed.
I don’t say complete our family, because that would imply that my family of four is anything less than perfect just the way it is. Those of you, who know me, would agree my life revolves around my two lovely four year olds.
Our first, Grace, was adopted after a long, emotional, expensive & difficult process. Every second was worth it ... Continue Reading

Workout clothing is a problem. For my sanity, I have to work out most days. Not long, gym sweating, iron pumping workouts, but some movement that requires me to eventually shower that day. I try to do this in the morning because I don’t really feel like I can enjoy the day and focus on the myriad of mommy/wife/host duties I have until my 25-90 minutes of moving is over. If, by chance, I can’t work out in the morning, I put on my workout clothes and won’t shower or change until I’ve exercised. As a result, many days I start and end my days a) show... Continue Reading

I had some fun with my four year olds this week as we got ready for Easter and enjoyed the awesome weather.
I got this idea on Pinterest and it was sooo easy. Just took pipe cleaners, which we have tons of since my girls like to put beads on them, popsicle sticks, pom poms and glue. Every item was available at our local dollar store so it was a cheap and fun craft.
I let the girls pick their colors then just helped them wrap the pipe cleaners around the sticks.
Then I helped Grace and Georgia put a dab of glue on the top of the sticks and drop on the pop po... Continue Reading

“Are the Halos charged?”
It’s a common battle cry in our household this winter. Every time our weather man comes on and tells us we will get yet another, round of snow, ice, wind, rain, pain, I call out to make sure every Halo is fully charged and ready to go. We have always been a Halo portable power family. We got the very first lipstick size charger that set so many records at QVC and started the whole portable power craze two Christmases ago
And since then we have upgraded to all the new versions along the way. But this one has been a blessing this w... Continue Reading

It’s (another) snow day, kids are home from school (again,) the Internet & cable are flickering from the intermittent power outages caused by another foot of wet heavy snow, and getting out of our pajamas before noon is probably not happening.
It’s February but it feels like we are still on Christmas break since our kids have been out of school more than they have been in so far this year. I have been trying so hard to keep up with my fitness routine but it seems like Mother Nature is working double time against me. I don’t belong to a gym... Continue Reading
