Sandra’s “Pick Me!” The Hottest Eye Shadow Trend

Started by Sandra Bennett in Beauty Banter, Hosts & Personalities, Mally 1365432789.717

Last month, I went to the Cosmetic Executive Women’s (CEW) annual Product Demonstrations in New York City. Companies, big and small, show off their latest products in hopes of winning a Beauty Insider’s Choice Award. The awards will be announced on May 17th and this year, for the first time, there will be a QVC Beauty Quest Award. The winning product will appear on our CEW awards show in July.   As the QVC beauty buyers and I walked the isles, we were looking for two things: First, we wanted to find that special, winning product that you will love. Second, we were trying ... Continue Reading

Sandra’s “Pick Me!” for a Younger Looking Neck

Started by Sandra Bennett in Beauty Banter, Hosts & Personalities, TSV Talk 1364572170.32

Years ago, while talking to some guests in the QVC greenroom, one woman remarked that she wished she had taken better care of her neck. She said she had spent a lot of time and effort on her face, but after years of neglect, her neck and décolleté looked at least a decade older than her face. I was about 35 at the time and silently vowed to start using a neck cream. Fast forward to now, I’m 42 and just a couple of weeks ago, I noticed my neck was starting to show some signs of age. Since that greenroom conversation, I’ve gone through periods where I have used a neck ... Continue Reading

It is awards season, and not just for actors and actresses! Beauty brands, big and small, are competing for the industry’s highest honor, The Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) Awards, Beauty’s Insider’s Choice Awards. CEW Members (people working in the field of beauty) vote on the most innovative products of the year. Each year, our QVC beauty team heads to New York to walk the countless isles at the Product Demonstration event. It’s a chance for companies to show off their new products in an effort to get some votes. We always go with a different agenda. We look for prod... Continue Reading

Sandra’s “Pick Me!” Goes to the Dogs with Wen

Last Reply by Sullyzgirlxoxo 1363916860.227 | Started by Sandra Bennett in Beauty Banter, Hosts & Personalities, Mom to Mom Blogs

It’s no secret that I’m a huge Wen fan.  Slowly, over the years, my entire family has started to use Wen. My kids, my mom, and my sister have all been using it for a couple of years. My dad just started using the oils on his scalp and the cleansing conditioner last month. I saw him last week and could not believe the difference in his hair!  I could have never predicted that I would someday have a conversation with my dad where told him how shiny his hair looks. In fact, I’m still laughing about it. Such is the power of Wen!  Until now, there has been only one... Continue Reading

Sandra’s “Pick Me!” Bad Breath? Not anymore!

Every Thursday at QVC, we hold “Guest Class.”  Inventors, vendors, and spokespeople all have to go through a daylong training session before they are certified to go on air and present their products. Several times a year, I help out during their afternoon practice session, where they learn what it is like to stand behind the camera, where to look, and how to clearly provide information about their products.  One thing that almost always seems to surprise new guests is how close they need to stand to the host. To demonstrate, I first tell them to stand at a distance... Continue Reading

Sandra’s “Pick Me!” Ole Heriksen’s Lemon Strip Flash Peel

Every once in a while you meet someone that my mother would describe as “a breath of fresh air.” It’s that rare person who is so genuinely kind and generous that spending time around them inspires you to be nicer and more giving.  Well, Ole Henriksen is that fresh air.  Just say his name at QVC and people smile and say things like, “Oh, isn’t he great?” I’m telling you this because sometimes when you only see someone on television, it’s nice to know that they are the real deal behind the scenes.  I hosted Ole’s first show las... Sandra's "Pick Me!"... with Tria!

Last Reply by PinayRN 1363045726.46 | Started by Sandra Bennett in Beauty Banter, Hosts & Personalities, TSV Talk

I'm going to be hair free this summer in all the areas I want to be hair free. Just writing that previous statement seems like such an "overshare". I know as hosts on QVC, we are prone to sometimes giving too much information (TMI!), but stick with me... in this blog, it is about to get worse!  This week for my Sandra's "Pick Me!" I really wanted to talk about the Tria because not only is it going to be the Today's Special Value® on February 11th, it is also changing my entire grooming routine. Soon, I will not have to worry about shaving, waxing, or epilating. Imagine not ... Continue Reading

Sandra's "Pick Me!" Wen your skin is dry!

Last Reply by Eva - QVC Social 1361223091.737 | Started by Sandra Bennett in Beauty Banter, Hosts & Personalities, WEN

This month I spent two weeks in China (you can read about it in last week's blog). The air there was so dry! In fact, "so dry" is a gross understatement! By the second day, I was worried there were bedbugs in the hotel because I was itching so much. I know that sounds gross, but I was starting to freak out. Turns out, it wasn't pests - it was the extremely arid air. Suddenly, I understood why so many people at work in Beijing had humidifiers on their desks. Fortunately, I had packed my WEN oils. I'm a huge fan of Tea Tree Eucalyptus oil on my head because it almost immediately takes care... Continue Reading

My two weeks in China.. Work, the Great Wall and spiders on a stick!

I just got back from what turned out to be one of the best professional experiences of my life. As you may know, QVC runs television shopping networks in the UK, Germany, Italy, and Japan… and now, we are in a partnership with a network in China, CNR Mall.  I spent two weeks this month in Beijing, conducting “Knowledge Shares” with the Chinese hosts and producers. I spent my days conducting trainings, attending meetings, and holding tape reviews (hosts and producers show you one of their presentations and you give feedback.) It was a lot of work, but ultimately, so ex... Continue Reading
