Feeling nostalgic….

Started by Quacker Factory in Recipe Swap, Quacker Factory 1418824651.77

This week as I was putting the final touches on my Christmas decorations, I really thought about Jeanne.  I am blessed because after she passed, I received some of her Christmas decorations from Tim.  So I always think of her, and know that she is in my heart!! So I pulled out her book—“Quacker Factory Christmas” and I started re-reading the stories & I even baked a cookie recipe from her book-using some of her cookie cutters.  The stories are wonderful and it made me miss her even more. So for this week’s blog, I decided to make one of her yummy re... Continue Reading

Crafting with Aunt Joan Marie, part deux!

Last Reply by samslilangel 1418499420.01 | Started by Quacker Factory in Quacker Factory

I feel so blessed during the year, but especially at the holiday time.  A few weeks ago, I shared with you some hand crafted ornaments which I created with my favorite Aunt Joan Marie.  So we decided to go ahead and create some other “gifty” type things that anyone can create.  I often want to share a little something with those I work with, or my nail tech or our mailman.  I saw this idea on Pinterest and just fell in love with it.  So I thought this would be a great idea to make & to have on hand to offer a small gesture of thanks during this holiday... Over Thanksgiving weekend Glen and I travelled to Chicago, IL for a fun filled weekend with his brothers & their wives to not only celebrate Thanksgiving, but also Glen’s brother Mark’s birthday.  Thanksgiving was great, we relaxed most of the day until it was time for the big feast.  We had turkey and all of the trimmings.  The only thing missing was my Mother’s baked corn pudding.  But since I was not the host, I was not able to make it this year.  Mark, Judi, Maureen & Jeff Friday was spent walking around the adorable town of Napervill... I Love Trees……….

Last Reply by prophet 1418348997.89 | Started by Quacker Factory in Quacker Factory

I have always loved Christmas!  The lights, the music, the decorations, THE TREES!!!!  My Mom would make a big deal about us decorating our tree as a family, but we usually got bored and ran off to play!  Well nothing could’ve prepared me for the love of trees that we all have within in the Quacker Factory family!!  Jeanne had about 10 trees in her home at Christmas time, and she even had a tree that she left up all year long—the decorations would change depending on the month.  How festive!! This love of trees also shows in our holiday designs.  Ever... Continue Reading

Last Reply by prophet 1418349642.837 | Started by Quacker Factory in Quacker Factory

It is so good to be back with my new ‘Patrick’s Pick Of the Month!  As I said last month, I am deeply passionate about making sure that each of you is looking – and FEELING – your best every single day when you wake up – especially on these cold winter mornings!! Speaking of cold winter mornings – as we all know, Jeanne Bice was originally from Wisconsin – so she KNEW what a cold, dark and long winter was like.  She use to say: “I don’t want to feel cold and dark when I put on clothes in the wintertime – I want to bright... The Power of Words……

Last Reply by bever49 1416568585.803 | Started by Quacker Factory in Quacker Factory

For Quacker Factory, Jeanne, myself & our entire team, the power of the written word is very important in our world.  In fact one of the very first sweatshirts that Jeanne created, many moons ago, had the word “Believe” in the design.  As many of your know Jeanne knew the power of positive words and placed them all over her home.  There were plaques, signs and even post-it notes with words she felt she needed to see all over her office.  When she passed, many of us brought these signs home with us, so that we could share in the power of words. For me person... Continue Reading

Last Reply by 06Daisy 1416038295.017 | Started by Quacker Factory in philosophy, Recipe Swap, Quacker Factory

At the Quacker Factory we always are thinking about creative things—new clothes, great blogs, crafts, food, etc.  Well one day while I was in the shower, a great idea popped into my head.  I was looking at a bottle of shower gel from philosophy and I read the recipe.  I thought to myself—I need to call Mari Lyn and we need to do a blog together making one of the philosophy recipes!!  Mari Lyn thought it was a grand idea—so we made a plan and got it together.  Her recipe choice—Coconut Snowballs!  Philosophy has a body lotion & a 3 in 1... It’s Cookie Time…

Several years ago Jeanne wanted to host a Cookie Exchange show on QVC.  She partnered with Jayne Brown & Pat James-Dimentri, and they co-hosted the show during a Fashionably Early program.  This show was so successful and everyone had a blast!!  And can I tell you-- there were a million cookies!!!  We had recipes from Judith Ripka, from the models and from the hosts.  What a fun filled morning!!!    Thankfully we have been able to continue this "sweet" tradition at QVC.  Out next Cookie Exchange show will be held on November 11, 2014 from 1-3 pm ea...
