This year I was honored, for the second time, to have been invited to this incredible event. The gala benefit was held at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City on October 8, 2014. If you are not familiar with this event, QVC partners with the Fashion Footwear Association of New York to sell shoes—which in turn raises money for breast cancer education & research. Designers donate shoes, which QVC sells on air for half of the retail price. QVC has been partnering with FFANY for twenty one years now. Bravo!
So many of us have been touched by breast ... Continue Reading

My friends, Joyce and Bryan, started a small vegetable garden in their back yard as a hobby. They wanted to grow some fresh food for their family, and then the hobby grew into a larger garden with tons of veggies, flowers, herbs, and everything you can imagine!! Look at some of this year’s crop!!
They even make their own pickles, and boy are they delicious!!!!
During a conversation we had one night, I mentioned to them that I loved butternut squash soup and that they should grow some. Well Bryan took my advice and grew some just for me.
So I decided that I would use ... Continue Reading

How many of you still have a piece of “Vintage Quack” in your closet with Jeanne Bice’s famous “Button Covers”? Yes, Button Covers were how this whole Quacky way of dressing started back in 1995 when Jeanne was discovered by QVC! Button Covers were what made Quacker Factory famous! Quacker Factory has evolved over the years, but Jeanne always wanted to bring back Button Covers in a new way!
She challenged us all the time with, “What’s the next Button Cover?” If you ever saw Jeanne, there was one accessory she was always wearing (besides her ad... Continue Reading

It is ‘Fang-Tastic’ to be back here at QVC Studio Park for our Annual Quacker Factory Fall-O-Ween show!!
Jeanne Bice loved, loved, LOVED Halloween!!! At Christmas time she got to decorate all of her trees – but at Halloween, she got to decorate all of YOU!!!!
If truth be known, Jeanne probably had more Halloween decorations than Christmas ones. She had ghosts in the yard, and her front porch was covered from one end to the other with tons of her famous signs – like my favorite that said ‘Witches Inn’ – and the doors were adorned with Candy Corn wre... As a child, my mother would take my sisters and I to a local farm, Linvilla Orchards. We would have so much fun in Pumpkin Land and would take a ride on a tractor pull hay ride and walk around and enjoy the season. Linvilla also hosts a small farm with animals that we would pet and feed. Linvilla Orchards has a wonderful market, and my sisters and I would get to choose one treat while we were there visiting. My fall favorite—caramel apples!! The candy apples are just too sticky and get stuck in my teeth!! I guess that is why I love the fall to this day.
While we were visitin... Continue Reading

I resisted for a long time, hearing everyone talking about how great the show Downton Abbey was. I waited and said, ‘Now I don’t have time to invest in another series!!’ Well my good friend, David Fritz, who plans the Quacker cruises, had something else in mind.
When I went to visit him last year in Florida, he got me COMPLETLEY HOOKED on this series. While I was with him, I watched the entire first season. When I got home, I downloaded Seasons 2 & 3 onto my iPad for watching. Then finally, this year I joined PBS so that I could own the entire series on DVD and get to wa... Continue Reading

The birthplace of Jeanne Bice – where Quacker Factory began!
As you may know, I was a model for Quacker Factory and Jeanne Bice for many years. Throughout the years, I would often hear Jeanne talk about her love of Wisconsin. She talked about the Friday Fish Fry, the Lighthouse at Fond du Lac, her cottage on Green Lake, Kringle from Racine, WI (ah yum) & fried cheese curds (yum, yum). She always had so many wonderful stories; I would find myself on the side of the set just listening to her talk!!
For one of Jeanne’s birthdays, she threw a party in Green Lake; however,... Continue Reading

Jeanne Bice used to always say, ‘Life’s a party – so you have to celebrate EVERY day!’
And one of the best times to celebrate with a party is when it’s someone’s birthday. Jeanne also said, ‘When you have a birthday, you get to celebrate all month long!’
Well, last month was my mother’s birthday – and trust me, I have no doubt that she is STILL celebrating! And I was lucky enough this year to have been able to join her on her actual birthday – in Brussels!
Mom and Dad had never been to Brussels before. They have some really g... Continue Reading
