Our furry kids do truly become a huge part of our lives. Our Lucy even became part of our engagement & she will be a part of our wedding day too!!!
Lucy Lu, as I call her is a loving golden retriever who never gets tired of a belly rub or walks or play time. And she NEVER gets tired of treats!!!! She is always very happy to see us—whether I get home from work at 4 am, or... Continue Reading

Cheers to Quacker Factory! Co-founded by the late Jeanne Bice and her son Tim—for bringing playful pieces and shimmering spirit over the last 20 years. Tim and Angel Smedley, on-air guest for Quacker Factory, took me on a look back (and forward, too!) in honor of this milestone.
“It’s hard to believe 20 years have come and gone already, but we’re loving everything we’re doing,” said Tim. “We’re very lucky to have always had a super group of customers.” Sequins, rhinestones, embroidery—all loves of Jeanne and at the heart of Q... Continue Reading

Over the last five years, you all have heard me talk about Glen. Many of you have also commented on FB when he was going to “pop” the question. Well, he did last Saturday. This proposal came at the perfect time for us in our relationship, and I could not be more thrilled!
I was completely surprised, I really had no idea. So our morning started out with Glen saying come on, let’s take Lucy for a hike at the college. We have been taking her to hikes at Swarthmore College since we have been together. So to me—this was just another day.

As a child, I remember my mother being very creative! She could draw, we would paint ceramics, she crocheted and we would even make candles! I guess this is where I caught my creative bug! Working for the Quacker Factory has really helped me continue to enjoy being creative & to look beyond myself for inspiration!
Since it is winter, my skin has simply gotten very dry!! So I thought that I would create some products that you can too—right at home, to help soothe this dry skin!! What I came up with (inspired by Pinterest), is a Lemon scented body salt sc... Continue Reading

I honestly believe that my good friend Jeanne Bice was one of the very few women who changed the way woman ‘of a certain age’ wore color! Before Jeanne, women over 40 were forced by clothing designers with items that were limited in color to just dark shades of black and brown. When Jeanne first appeared on QVC in 1995 she proudly proclaimed:
“Listen ladies, throw out those dark shades and step into all of the beautiful colors of the rainbow that God has given us – it’s time to take color away from just the cute skinny young ones and reclaim what is... Continue Reading

This week as I was putting the final touches on my Christmas decorations, I really thought about Jeanne. I am blessed because after she passed, I received some of her Christmas decorations from Tim. So I always think of her, and know that she is in my heart!!
So I pulled out her book—“Quacker Factory Christmas” and I started re-reading the stories & I even baked a cookie recipe from her book-using some of her cookie cutters. The stories are wonderful and it made me miss her even more.
So for this week’s blog, I decided to make one of her yummy re... Continue Reading

I feel so blessed during the year, but especially at the holiday time. A few weeks ago, I shared with you some hand crafted ornaments which I created with my favorite Aunt Joan Marie. So we decided to go ahead and create some other “gifty” type things that anyone can create.
I often want to share a little something with those I work with, or my nail tech or our mailman. I saw this idea on Pinterest and just fell in love with it. So I thought this would be a great idea to make & to have on hand to offer a small gesture of thanks during this holiday... Continue Reading
