He proposed!!!!!!

Over the last five years, you all have heard me talk about Glen.  Many of you have also commented on FB when he was going to “pop” the question.  Well, he did last Saturday.  This proposal came at the perfect time for us in our relationship, and I could not be more thrilled! I was completely surprised, I really had no idea.  So our morning started out with Glen saying come on, let’s take Lucy for a hike at the college.  We have been taking her to hikes at Swarthmore College since we have been together.  So to me—this was just another day. ... It’s January, so let’s get Pampered!

As a child, I remember my mother being very creative!  She could draw, we would paint ceramics, she crocheted and we would even make candles!  I guess this is where I caught my creative bug!  Working for the Quacker Factory has really helped me continue to enjoy being creative & to look beyond myself for inspiration! Since it is winter, my skin has simply gotten very dry!!  So I thought that I would create some products that you can too—right at home, to help soothe this dry skin!!  What I came up with (inspired by Pinterest), is a Lemon scented body salt sc... Color My World!

I honestly believe that my good friend Jeanne Bice was one of the very few women who changed the way woman ‘of a certain age’ wore color!  Before Jeanne, women over 40 were forced by clothing designers with items that were limited in color to just dark shades of black and brown.  When Jeanne first appeared on QVC in 1995 she proudly proclaimed: “Listen ladies, throw out those dark shades and step into all of the beautiful colors of the rainbow that God has given us – it’s time to take color away from just the cute skinny young ones and reclaim what is... Feeling nostalgic….

Started by Quacker Factory in Recipe Swap, Quacker Factory 1418824651.77

This week as I was putting the final touches on my Christmas decorations, I really thought about Jeanne.  I am blessed because after she passed, I received some of her Christmas decorations from Tim.  So I always think of her, and know that she is in my heart!! So I pulled out her book—“Quacker Factory Christmas” and I started re-reading the stories & I even baked a cookie recipe from her book-using some of her cookie cutters.  The stories are wonderful and it made me miss her even more. So for this week’s blog, I decided to make one of her yummy re... Continue Reading

Crafting with Aunt Joan Marie, part deux!

Last Reply by samslilangel 1418499420.01 | Started by Quacker Factory in Quacker Factory

I feel so blessed during the year, but especially at the holiday time.  A few weeks ago, I shared with you some hand crafted ornaments which I created with my favorite Aunt Joan Marie.  So we decided to go ahead and create some other “gifty” type things that anyone can create.  I often want to share a little something with those I work with, or my nail tech or our mailman.  I saw this idea on Pinterest and just fell in love with it.  So I thought this would be a great idea to make & to have on hand to offer a small gesture of thanks during this holiday... The Windy City….

Over Thanksgiving weekend Glen and I travelled to Chicago, IL for a fun filled weekend with his brothers & their wives to not only celebrate Thanksgiving, but also Glen’s brother Mark’s birthday.  Thanksgiving was great, we relaxed most of the day until it was time for the big feast.  We had turkey and all of the trimmings.  The only thing missing was my Mother’s baked corn pudding.  But since I was not the host, I was not able to make it this year.  Mark, Judi, Maureen & Jeff Friday was spent walking around the adorable town of Napervill... I Love Trees……….

Last Reply by prophet 1418348997.89 | Started by Quacker Factory in Quacker Factory

I have always loved Christmas!  The lights, the music, the decorations, THE TREES!!!!  My Mom would make a big deal about us decorating our tree as a family, but we usually got bored and ran off to play!  Well nothing could’ve prepared me for the love of trees that we all have within in the Quacker Factory family!!  Jeanne had about 10 trees in her home at Christmas time, and she even had a tree that she left up all year long—the decorations would change depending on the month.  How festive!! This love of trees also shows in our holiday designs.  Ever... Continue Reading

Patrick’s Pick(s) Of The Month – November 2014!

Last Reply by prophet 1418349642.837 | Started by Quacker Factory in Quacker Factory

It is so good to be back with my new ‘Patrick’s Pick Of the Month!  As I said last month, I am deeply passionate about making sure that each of you is looking – and FEELING – your best every single day when you wake up – especially on these cold winter mornings!! Speaking of cold winter mornings – as we all know, Jeanne Bice was originally from Wisconsin – so she KNEW what a cold, dark and long winter was like.  She use to say: “I don’t want to feel cold and dark when I put on clothes in the wintertime – I want to bright...
