My friend Emily and I have been friends for a LONG time. In fact, now that I think about it…we’ve been besties since we were eight. Our dads took business classes together, our moms were teachers and taught together...I'm not sure we had much of a choice in the matter!
Anyway, she joined the same sorority at college that I did (even though we went to different schools), and she was the maid of honor at my wedding. I don’t see her as often as I would like and I’m sure you all have a friend like that. But, we both lead busy lives…me at QVC and a fa... Continue Reading

It’s pretty tough to stump me when it comes to gift ideas. I’m surrounded by some amazing items each and every day here at QVC, so I seem to find presents for almost everyone on my list. But, I’ll admit that I love putting something personal in my family's stockings or having a little something for holiday guests, my kids’ teachers, their friends, the list goes on...
This year, that little “something” is a pair of hand warmers!
To make these, find:
2 pieces of felt
Thread, to match felt
Cut eac... Continue Reading

It's absolutely gorgeous outside…almost all the trees here in West Chester are changing colors and it just feels like fall with the crisper, cooler air. I drove by a local orchard today and it was just bustling with hay riders and apple pickers.

I always have an inner struggle with myself when I try to choose what desserts to make around the holidays. There are just so many yummy recipes out there...and I HAVE to make the perfect one. More often than not, I usually decide on two or three desserts if I’m hosting the gathering…a cookie, a pretty cake, and something blissfully easy but popular…like chocolate fondue!
Fondue is so company-friendly because you don’t have to serve your guests. Just prepare a platter of dippers before your guests ever arrive—think sliced pound cake, strawberries... Continue Reading

Do you know that saying, “Be careful what you wish for?” Well, there’s at least one time in my life when I’m glad I wasn’t careful…and that was when I wished I could work with Joan Rivers. Long before I was hired as a program host at QVC, I would watch her on the air, mesmerized by her story telling of Russian czars and Faberge eggs. I’d laugh at her brashness, but also admire her ladylike style.
When my dream of hosting on QVC came true, my biggest hope…and fear…was to work with Joan. She was one of the biggest celebrity names at QVC... Continue Reading

Candles—whether real or flameless, big or small, scented or not—are unlike any other piece of décor you can have. They bring warmth, light, and instant charm and you’ll find at least one candle in every room in my home. And…at the holidays, I tend to incorporate even more candles into my decorating. Here’s an easy DIY idea that you can use in your home or give to friends or loved ones. I made mine specifically holiday, but you could put anything on the front…an initial, a snowflake, a leaf, a flower, a tree…be creative!

My dearest friend David Venable’s cookbook shipped from QVC’s doors today to those of you who already picked up his second comfort food cookbook, Back Around the Table! If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, I HIGHLY recommend it. I’ve had the pleasure of trying quite a few of the recipes when I presented it with him on air, and I wanted to Happy Dance my way across the room.
This Wednesday on You’re Home with Jill we’re talking about grown-up entertaining. On Friday, I showed you how to make personalized wine-glass charms from old games. And t... Continue Reading

I think every great hostess has a special pot roast recipe. Some bake it, some speed things up with a pressure cooker, and I use a slow cooker. That way, it doesn’t have to be a recipe reserved for the weekend. Tomorrow night on You’re Home with Jill, I’ll show you how to make my Perfect Pot Roast. We’re using the Today’s Special Value®…the Ninja Multi-Cooker which doubles as a stovetop, oven, steamer, and slow-cooker!
Perfect Pot Roast
2 Tbsp espresso powder
4 Tbsp flour
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 4-lb beef chuck roast
