Hi, everyone! Have you ever tried to pack a salad in your lunch box? It’s not easy. Either you have five different containers to keep the ingredients separate so your salad doesn’t get soggy, or you have one big container…and soggy salad...that you then don’t want...so you order the grilled cheese anyway. That’s when a friend told me about the mason jar salad. (I sound like I’m on a drug commercial or something, don’t I??) Anyway, it’s true. A friend at work brought in this beautiful salad in a mason jar and explained that not only can you put... Continue Reading

Hi friends~ My family and I have returned from our wonderful vacation to London and I wanted to share some of our trip with all of you.  This was such a special journey for all of us….me returning to London after almost 19 years, a first trip overseas for the kids, Doug’s first time in London and my Mom coming along for the ride!  A trip destined to be filled with wonderful memories.  My only regret is that it wasn’t about 5 days longer!  London is such a wonderful city, there is never enough time to see it all.   Our home base for the wee... More Easter Fun: Glow-in-the-Dark Eggs & Pineapple Casserole

Last Reply by Perkup 1428247047.257 | Started by Jill Bauer in Kitchen & Food Talk, Hosts & Personalities, Mom to Mom Blogs

Hi, everyone!   Last Easter, I saw an idea for glow-in-the-dark eggs and figured out how to make them. If real eggs aren’t your thing, this SHOULD be your thing.   Aren’t those fun!? All you need are glow bracelets—and the eggs, of course. I was able to get bracelets in packages of 12 or 16 at my local craft store. Bend the bracelets to activate the light, roll them into shape, and they should fit nicely inside the eggs. I’m always surprised how long the bracelets glow, but that juice doesn’t last forever. So, tell the kids to play with their DS ... Continue Reading

Hi, everyone! Easter is next weekend—what are your plans? Are you hosting family and friends? Are you a guest? Wherever you are, I hope you’ll have time to color some Easter eggs. And, this year, why not try using natural ingredients to dye them? I’ll bet you have most of these ingredients in your pantry or spice cabinet, which means one less trip to the store. And better yet, you know what you’re using to color your eggs. It’s nice to have that reassurance, you know? First thing’s first: I dyed the eggs while they cooked, so I used four separate pots...
