Happy Easter! Happy Passover! It’s a week for celebrating and week for eating. Could life be any better? We do Easter at my house and a glow-in-the-dark Easter egg hunt is in the plan, as is dinner with all the trimmings.
Speaking of dinner, there’s still time to get a Easter ham from QVC if you haven’t had time to pick one up. And, while you’re at it, take a peek at our entire gourmet food category. There’s something to be said for making an entire meal from scratch, but I never seem to find the time! Some things MUST be homemade and I always make time for those... Continue Reading

I finished my spring decorating this morning and my house feels officially de-winterized. I would have loved to infuse a little more Easter into my décor, but I just don’t have enough room, time, or the ability to be so specific. (I bet you can identify!) So, I put out little spring touches here and there. Today I put a birdcage with candle inside on my counter. I also have a few little bunnies here and there. They’re not so cutesy that they look "Easter," but they definitely look like spring. I also changed out the throw pillows and found some that are lighte... Continue Reading

Hi, everyone—Happy April!
Are your crocuses peeping out of the ground? Are your daffodils blooming? Spring is HERE. It’s really here! And I’m thinking about gardening, spring parties, and Easter. The holiday is a little late this year, but I just think of that as more time to plan...which I really need. After all, we’ve got decorating to do, eggs to color, and the Easter dinner to think about.
But, here’s the most important question: do you still have Easter egg hunts at your house? I’m not sure how much longer my kids will want to do Easter egg hunts (hop... Continue Reading

When you think of spring cleaning, does the garage come to mind? Or maybe your backyard shed? I tend to forget about my garage until it’s impossible to find anything, the piles start tumbling, and there really isn’t an inch of space to fit that one last basketball. Then, I have to organize—and more importantly, weed out the stuff. Out of all the storage places at my house, I think the garage is one of the toughest things to tidy, considering how many things we really do need—not to mention it’s typically a “man space.” Over the years, ho... About every five years, we get our “head shots” taken. These are photos that are used to send to our adoring fans (okay, my mom and her friends) and are used all over for publicity for QVC and on our website.
I have to be honest…its not usually something I enjoy. I’m happy just smiling at the camera, saying cheese, and moving on. But these photo shoots are HOURS and don’t always feel that natural in the way you are posed or in the things the crew tries to get you to do. The flip side is if you don’t really go for it, you’re not going to be happy with... Continue Reading

We had two amazing TSV® offers recently—the Vitamix Turbo Blender (K41120) or Temp-tations® 13-Piece Round Baker Set (K40167). If you got either, LUCKY YOU! I bet you’re in love. After I buy a new kitchen appliance, I’m always searching for great new recipes I can make in my new purchase. And, I’ve got two great recipes that were virtually made for those items.
That’s my Virgin Mango Daiquiri recipe. I always mix up a big batch of virgin daiquiris so the kids can have a glass, too. If you’d like to make a "grown up" version, add you... Continue Reading

Mark your calendars—there’s a You’re Home with Jill on tomorrow at 7pm ET! That’s a much better time slot, isn’t it? Now you don’t have to watch while you're at work! :)
We’ve been organizing one room at a time this month and now we’re up to the living room, the family room, or the den—whatever you call that special gathering space. That room in my house is our living room and I feel like I tidy it up at the end of every day. Now, I fold blankets and take dishes to the kitchen. When the kids were smaller, I was forever vacuu... Spring is such a refreshing time, perfect for new beginnings. Each day that’s even one degree higher than the last I’m more inspired to clean and clear out! It may be the only time of year that I actually don’t mind chores, because it just feels so good to be in sync with the season.
You know that on You’re Home with Jill I’m all about simple solutions. In order to make spring cleaning easier, I told you about my 15 minute plan and we tackled the closets with those beautiful soap sachets. It’s not about making every room perfect, but making little eff... Continue Reading

Happy March! Soon we’ll be smelling colorful tulips and watching robins build nests. Doesn't that sound refreshing? One of the not-so-happy things to think about (depending on your personality) might be spring cleaning. I have mixed feelings about it—on one hand, it feels SO nice to have a fresh, clean home when you're done. On the other hand, it’s a LOT of work.
For the month of March in our You're Home with Jill blogs, I thought it would be helpful if we tackled one room at a time...cleaning and organizing as we go. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a hundred t... Continue Reading

I’m headed to the Philadelphia Flower Show this weekend and I’m buttoning up the craft projects for my "Growing Up Gardening" presentation at 11am ET. So I just thought I’d practice my demonstration here in my blog. You don’t mind, right? :)
I love to garden…in fact, I just love being outdoors. I instantly feel relaxed when I’m outside and rejuvenated to be back in touch with nature. I don’t think enough of us garden—it’s so easy nowadays to go to a store and buy fresh produce or flowers. But gardening is a valuable skill a... Continue Reading
