So long, farewell, alvederzane, goodbye…OK, I’ll stop before I break into song. As I move on to my next adventure and transition from QVC staffer to devoted beauty customer, I wanted to take a moment to let you know it has been a pleasure and an honor to have had the opportunity to chat with you all in this forum. I assure you that I’m leaving you in good hands. Our new Beauty Editor, Missy, knows her way around the Q and has a keen eye for great products—evidenced by her counting Lipstick Queen Saint Lipstick in Saint Rose and Ultraflesh Panthera Jet-Black Mascar... I don’t often discuss price, let alone start off a post with it, but this tarte TSV is such an insane value I almost feel compelled. The Miracle of Maracuja 8-piece Skin Smart Collection includes Customer Top-Rated Maracuja Oil, which is normally $46, and tarte’s most popular mascara, which is normally $19…plus all this other great stuff that are hardly mere afterthoughts for (drum roll, please) under $60.
Here’s everything included—all are full sizes:
Pure Maracuja Oil
Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, or Deep
Lights, Camera, Lashe... Continue Reading

One of my most embarrassing junior-high memories came at the hands of sunless tanner. I mean this literally, as failure to wash my hands after applying left them stained an Oompa-Loompa orange, and the boy who sat in front of me in Spanish class made sure everyone knew about it. This was the late ‘80s and self-tanners had just hit the market. I couldn’t wait to finally be a golden goddess like my classmates; my pale skin had never once seen anything resembling a tan. And it didn’t on this occasion, either. Not only did my legs have an unsettling orange glow, but my palms bore... Continue Reading

I hope everyone is starting to receive their HydroShield Today’s Special Value and loving it. I’m so eager to hear your reactions. A few of you asked questions on my last blog post, and because our Community policies don’t allow me to answer in the comments section, here are my responses:
elegant profile: I don’t have personal experience with Dr. Denese’s neck creams, but I posed your question to Dr. Denese herself, and she recommended the Triple Strength Neck Wrinkle Smoother for you.
sweet oeo: HydroShield Ultra Moisturizing Face Serum is so si... Continue Reading

With so many skin care lines and types of products at QVC, making a choice can be daunting. So, I thought I’d quickly highlight the benefits of Dr. Denese’s HydroShield AcquaCell Three-Piece Treatment System—and let you know my experience with it—to help you decide if it’s right for you.
For Dr. Denese, maintaining optimal levels of hydration is key to looking youthful. And when it comes to hydration, many consider her HydroShield Serum the holy grail. It’s packed with proven antiaging and moisture-locking ingredients, including:

When I heard Mally’s latest Today’s Special Value was called Fierce Face in 5 Minutes, my ears instantly perked up. As the mom of a four-month-old son, I get what feels like nanoseconds to look put-together before dropping him off at daycare each day…and it’s an ongoing struggle. Needless to say, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this kit.
Here’s what you get:
High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Lipety Split—2011 Customer Choice Award Winner for Best Lip Product in a new shade exclusive to QVC through 8/1/12

Josie Maran just has a glow about her that you can’t help but notice. These days, it may be due in part to expecting her second child (congrats, Josie!), but her enviable California-girl radiance is nothing new. The supermodel attributes it to her use of argan oil and argan oil-infused makeup, and now she’s packaged her “simple steps to beautiful skin” in one five-piece kit (plus a brush) so the rest of us can get our glow on, too. I had the good fortune to try the Today’s Special Value kit in advance, and I think you’re going to love it whether you’re... Continue Reading

It’s been far too long since we’ve had a chance to chat. But I have a good excuse — a great one, in fact. My son Marshall was born in late September and I’ve been on mommy duty ever since. Needless to say, I’ve been a busy bee and he’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever laid eyes on (scroll down for a pic). I miss spending every second with him, but it’s great to be back.
It’s funny how much my relationship with beauty has changed since having a baby. For one, I’m much more forgiving of my body. Yes, it’s a little softer, but l... Continue Reading
