Happy Monday! I'll be seeing you at noon for QCheck where I'll be presenting today's TSV, the skirted leggings from Legacy! They're an updated take on a very popular style we presented earlier this year. I love them because they're super easy to style a thousand ways...and to prove it I sent a pair all the way across the country to my best friend Kim in Seattle!
She's got an amazing sense of style and it shows. I asked her to work her black skirted leggings however she wanted, and I'd do the same with my olive pair. I love how our individual flair shows even though 50% of our outfit is iden... Continue Reading

It never fails, no matter how many banana smoothies are made and no matter how many bananas head out for school lunches throughout the week, I end up with at least a few that are starting to look a little too ripe for snacking! So I often turn them into a breakfast bread. Thought I'd share the recipe for you in honor of "Cooking on Q" day today! Enjoy your weekend and I'll see you on air! Also, you can find a few of my other "go-to" recipes on my toGather page!
Something good is about to happen in the Kitchen Aid!
Clearly someone in the house wants in on the Banana Bread action...ha!
I... Continue Reading

You may have been seeing my #FrugalFashionista post on my Facebook page, I say it all the time on air: I consider myself a "frugal fashionista!"
And I know you probably do too! I don't know too many people who don't check the price tags before indulging their fashion sense. But I also don't know too many people who don't love growing their collection of accessories, jewelry, and clothing!
Before I came to QVC, I owned and operated four fashion boutiques in Texas. And I made it my mission to outfit my gals in super-cute styles at super-low prices. I ran fashion shows in the area using my own ... Continue Reading

Happy Cooking on Q day! Today we’re talking all about comfort food, and so in honor of that, I thought I'd share one of my favorites--a Red Beans and Rice recipe. But don't tell any of my New Orleans relatives I'm sharing it on a Wednesday...this is strictly a Monday meal!
Seems odd, right? But the recipe has its background in a New Orleans tradition. On Sundays in the Crescent City, ham was a traditional meal. Monday was traditionally laundry day. So a pot of red beans could sit simmering with the ham hocks while the clothes were being tended to! To this day most local restaurants serv... Continue Reading

On Tuesday, September 2nd, my daughter starts high school.
I can't believe I just typed that!! Wasn't it just yesterday she was waking me up five times a night for feedings? Wasn't it just yesterday she took her first steps? Wasn't it just yesterday she lost her first tooth?
I know. That's what every parent says when high school looms, right? Time flies. And memories flood your mind as you pack that first freshman lunch, put that freshman on her bus, and say that quick prayer to God as she boards that all will go well and that she'll be happy.
Every year I've taken a picture of Gabby by our... Continue Reading

During the holidays it's tradition in my New Orleans-based family to take all the leftover turkey and turn it into a gumbo! Here's the recipe...hope you like life spicy!
2 lbs cooked turkey off the bone
8 cups stock (chicken is fine, but bonus if you used the turkey bones to make the stock!)
1 lb. fresh or frozen okra, sliced into small rounds
1/2 cup cooking oil
1/2 cup flour
2 cups chopped onions
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 can chopped tomatoes
3/4 pound andouille sausage, sliced into small rounds
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. sage... Continue Reading

Every time there's an Honora TSV it brings back memories of my very first TSV kickoff! I wrote this blog back in June, and it's so fun to look back and read it again :)
It's a big milestone for me...my first TSV kickoff! As we greet a new day at QVC, we usher in an exciting new item and spotlight it all day. And for my first kickoff, I can't think of anything more exciting than jewelry! It's a passion of mine and has been forever. I love that a simple piece can make a woman feel special, feel beautiful. And pearls have been doing that for us for hundreds of years! I'd always wanted to... Continue Reading

You cried tears of joy with me when I found out I got my dream job.
You make me laugh.
You fix things...like EVERYTHING. Home and car repair is your superpower!
You drive (!) and fly from New Orleans to Philadelphia to visit your girls like it's a trip to the corner grocery without batting an eye.
You send us King Cakes at Mardi Gras, bring beignet mix in your suitcase, and Community Coffee in your carryon so we never have to be without a taste of our Native New Orleans.
You text me "Who Dat!" on Sundays in autumn. We're a cross-country two-person Saints fan club.
You heard me mention my... Continue Reading

Confession: every time I'm on air and speaking about possible graduation gifts, I'm also doing something else you can't hear or see: I'm thinking about my own daughter's graduation! Not the big cap-and-gown, can't-believe-college-is-next graduation (thank goodness that's four years away!). No, my Gabby is taking the leap from 8th grade to high school.
She's my only child, and so I do my best to savor every milestone. And I can't believe this one is already here. I'm sure you can relate...it feels like yesterday I was groggily changing 3am diapers!
(Don't tell her I said that :-) ... Continue Reading

By now my family, friends and viewers already know about my obsession with "pretty sparklies." I'm a sucker for shiny things! And what sparkles more, dazzles more, delights more than diamonds?
But when I started to write a blog about diamonds, it got me thinking: what is it about diamonds that are so appealing to me??
(Now bear with me. If you follow me on Facebook then you already know I have a strong tendency to wax VERY nostalgic, philosophical, even downright mushy. And I’m about to do so again here)
There are so many very beautiful stones out there. Many o... Continue Reading
