I have an obsession. If you look in my closet, you would see an obscene amount of backpacks.
Travel backpacks, fabric backpacks, leather backpacks, convertible styles, solids, and prints. I know it may seem over the top, but if you give it a solid try, it's extremely liberating. I have been wearing them for years, but oddly enough, I never used them in school. I went from the "book bag" of the late 70's and early 80's to "pocketbooks" (as we called them in my house) for the rest of my schooling years. Needless to say, I had very toned arms from carrying those enormous textbooks in my hands!... Continue Reading

On this Valentine's Day, I wanted to reshare my story of love!
I am one lucky girl. Not only was I able to find my Prince Charming, but I have a Fairytale Story to go along with it, filled with beautiful gowns and scary dragons! (Ok, well, maybe the pink dragon wasn’t THAT scary- but still!)
Langdon and I met while working at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. I was a magician’s assistant, and he seated people for the shows - while wearing a toga, I might add. We had always seen each other around the theater, but were officially introduce... Continue Reading

As the holidays grow closer, so many of us are reaching for our KitchenAid mixers and putting recipes new and old to test for cookie season! This year the host team is doing something extra fun. Each host will share a cookie recipe and tag another host via his/her social page. This "tag" is social savy way of saying, "hey it's your turn to bake!"
So thanks to my friend Melissa Epps, it is time to dish up a new recipe that I am trying out this year. They are Oatmeal, Cranberry, and Chocolate Chunk Cookies! I saw this recipe on foodnetwork.com and I must say they are delicious!
I... Continue Reading

A couple of years ago, I was waiting in line for coffee, and a woman told me she thought I was stylish.
Me? Stylish? She didn't say that she liked my clothes. Rather, she made a statement about my abilities to pull it all together. I remember how I felt when she told me that. I felt fantastic and sophisticated. I wish that I could take full credit for it, but I can't. It all belongs to Lori Goldstein.
(Here I am pumpkin picking wearing our LOGO Today's Special Value)
Lori is the designer of the LOGO collections and LOGO Littles lines of clothing at QVC. Her unique ability to c... Continue Reading

Fozzie first became a part of our lives a little over 10 years ago. I was a new show host, and my husband had just relocated here from Las Vegas. We had always talked about getting a dog, and this seemed like the time to do it.
There was no debate about the breed. We had both grown up with poodles, and loved the fact that there was no shedding. So, we checked the paper and found a breeder of red poodles about a half hour away. I grew up with an apricot poodle, and had never heard of the red color before, so I was curious. We drove there expect... Continue Reading

A couple of days ago, it was my daughter's 7th birthday. I can't believe how much my life has changed in the last seven years. From sleepless nights and colic, to first steps and first days of school. Now she is reading books about Laura Ingalls Wilder and Martin Luther King Jr.
I can't imagine what is going to happen next! She wanted to have a party at Build-A-Bear this year, and I was a little apprehensive. We had never had a birthday party for the kids outside of our own house before, and I had no idea what to expect. Luckily, everyth... Continue Reading

My Friday Night Meal this week revolves around fresh flavors. When it comes to fish, I usually want a clean flavor with a delicate but slightly firm texture. One of my favorite types of fish is Australis Barramundi Sea Bass. In my opinion, it is more delicious than most restaurant fish dishes, and there are many ways to prepare it.
My favorite is the baking method, because it's so quick and easy. The hard part is coming up with a good side dish to go with it. My family loves broccoli, but I'm always looking for ways to serve it that don't involve a ... Continue Reading

I don't know about you, but I am almost ready for this winter to be over. When it's really cold, and summer vacation is still months away, I sometimes want to take a vacation through the foods I prepare for my family. My Friday Night Meal this week revolves around a dish called an empanada. Whether you had one last week, or have never even heard of one, I can promise you they are delicious! I first sampled the Authentic Argentinian Empanadas a few months ago, and almost lost my mind. The flavors are rich, and because of the way they are crafted, they are very easy... Continue Reading

When the wind is blowing, and it's chilly outside, I love to settle down with a bowl of something hearty. This is the time of year when I look forward to simple and delicious comfort food. I have a quick and easy comfort food meal the whole family will love, and it's from Laurie's Kitchen! You may already be familiar with their delicious soup mixes, but this recipe is all about chili. It's White Bean and Chicken Chili, and you can make it in about 30 minutes. All you really need is 2 cups of cooked, diced chicken, 4 cups of water, and the soup mix. However, I got ...
