Cauliflower Mock Fried Rice Recipe

Started by Sandra Bennett in Recipe Swap, Hosts & Personalities 1414088241.58

I saw a version of this recipe several years ago online. Since then, I've tweaked it to include ingredients my family likes.  Even if you think it sounds strange, I highly recommend you try it. No one in my family can tell the difference between the taste of real fried rice and this cauliflower dish. In fact, this is one of my family's favorite meals. I always make extra because my daughters' love taking it to school in a thermos for lunch. It makes me feel good to see both kids to eating giant bowls of vegetables. You'll notice that in my directions, I give you estimates of what I have ... Continue Reading

Hero Of The House

Started by Sandra Bennett in For the Home Talk, Hosts & Personalities, TSV Talk 1412626864.163

I write a lot of blogs about beauty products, so you may be wondering why I'm now blogging about the Coleman lantern. Actually, I was asked to write this blog because recently during a host team meeting, I started telling everyone how much I love my lantern. I raved about it so much, someone suggested I share my positive review with you. Two years ago, we got word that Hurricane Sandy was going to affect our area. I was at work the day before the storm hit and I was telling Sean Pickford, one of our on-air guests, that I was worried that my family would not have enough flashlights a... Continue Reading

Where All The Susan Graver Magic Happens

Last Reply by ruth h 1413573258.183 | Started by Sandra Bennett in Fashion Talk, Hosts & Personalities, Susan Graver

Remember how much fun it was to take field trips when you were a kid? I got to relive that feeling recently when Pat James Dementri and I took a road trip to see Susan Graver's design studio in Manhattan.   Susan has explained to me many times about how she comes up with ideas for her line, how prints are picked, and how hard her team works to make sure the clothes will look good on every body type. Still, visiting her studio falls into the "You have to see it to believe it" category. I had no idea how much work it takes to create a garment for QVC. If you are someone w... Continue Reading

If You Can't Take the Heat, Renovate Your Kitchen! Check out Before and After Photos From our Kitchen Transformation

My husband and I bought our first home in a bit of a rush. It was very small, very affordable, close enough to QVC and in a good school district. Our main concern was that we be settled somewhere before our oldest daughter started kindergarten. Over time, we added another daughter and a dog to our family and our house went from cozy to cramped.         We decided to look for a home where my husband could have a garage, our kids could have a yard, and I could have a place to entertain. After two years of searching, we found it! We loved everything about our new home, ex... Continue Reading

Fall Trends for Polish Lovers

Last Reply by avamea7 1409345726.83 | Started by Sandra Bennett in Beauty Banter, Hosts & Personalities, Among Friends

Nail polish has moved way beyond your standard red and pink. In the last few years, women of all ages have started to sport blue, purple, orange, even gray nails.  It only makes sense that the newest trends involve taking it to the next level by combining these colors. Two-toned nails are more popular than ever and fortunately, it's easy and affordable to get the look. Here's an example of a simple two-tone nail that I created, but check out the video below for more creative and fun ideas and let me know what you think!     Every Saturday on my Facebook page {Sandra Benn... Easy Summer Beauty: Exfoliate Fast!

Started by Sandra Bennett in Beauty Banter, The Q We Love, Hosts & Personalities 1406123480.927

Every year, I attend the CEW Best of Beauty Awards. Winning is one of the biggest honors in the industry, and this year, a relatively new company, Glam Glow, won two awards! I knew Glam Glow had been on QVC, but I wasn't familiar with the product line. I decided I absolutely had to see what I was missing! The first product I tried was their YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. It is called a 10-minute "facial in a jar" and is a favorite in the world of entertainment, fashion and music. Still, I have tried a lot of masks, and have often been less than "wowed" by the results, so I was&n... Continue Reading

Susan Graver's Foxy Makeover

Last Reply by Jimdog 1405693828.877 | Started by Sandra Bennett in Jewelry Talk, Hosts & Personalities, Susan Graver

Last year, I went to Beijing twice to conduct training sessions for our sister network, CNR Mall. When I'm in China for QVC, I work really long hours, but my weekends are free, so I pack those days with sightseeing and shopping.  My favorite market is the Panjiayuan Market (also called the Dirt Market.) You can find everything there, from household products, to beads, handbags, and antiques. Bargaining for a good price is part of the fun, and I really enjoy trying to use my limited Mandarin skills to negotiate.     Last August, I was looking at som... A "Little" LOGO Fun

Last Reply by Dana O 1405686556.14 | Started by Sandra Bennett in The Q We Love, Hosts & Personalities, Lori Goldstein

I love LOGO and own many pieces, so I was very excited to hear that Lori Goldstein was creating LOGO Littles. The line is cuter than I could have ever imagined! My girls are so excited to wear Lori's designs. Not only is LOGO Littles fun and stylish, it totally works for children's active lives. All of the pieces are practical and so comfortable for wearing to school, on the playground, and on family outings.  Here is a quote from Lori about the inspiration of LOGO Littles line: "I feel the excitement that the main LOGO collection and brand extensions have brought to our customer, and ... My Hairdo Makeover By Chaz Dean

Last Reply by sjk73 1405357516.09 | Started by Sandra Bennett in Beauty Banter, Hosts & Personalities, WEN

Back in January, My husband and I were out to dinner and I got a text from Chaz Dean, the creator of Wen. It was a picture of me that Chaz had found on Facebook. My hair was pushed behind my shoulder, making it appear much shorter than the actual length. Chaz wrote, "I think we should do this." "Long bob?" I texted back. And so the saga began.  I really wish I could tell you that I cut my hair on an impulse or that I gave it no thought, but I spent six months thinking, "should I or shouldn't I?" Chaz and I continued to text each other pictures and have conversations about it. If you are ... Continue Reading

Are Your Nails Spring Ready?

Started by Sandra Bennett in Beauty Banter, Hosts & Personalities, Among Friends 1400700777.82

Cold, dry weather and dark days can be harsh on our skin and nails, so now is the perfect time to start off the season with clean, moisturized, and well groomed hands to show off those Spring trending colors! I asked the ladies from Team Julep for a little help with this process and they gave me six easy steps to prep your nails for Spring/Summer!  Step 1: Soften Use the Julep Glycolic Hand Scrub to whisk away dry, dull skin cells and make way for softer, smoother, young-looking hands. Start by dampening your hands and gently rub a quarter-sized amount of scrub on the backs and pal... Continue Reading
