Hi, everyone! Happy Friday! If you saw my Facebook post earlier, I’m neck deep in Once Upon a Time episodes as we speak and loving every minute of it. I’m spending the day at home…in my Pj's…I’ve already had my second cup of hot chocolate…life is GOOD! But, it is Friday and I promised to share a Flashback Friday video every week from now until the new year. Since Thanksgiving is 6 days away (can you believe it!?) It’s time to talk about that turkey! My dear friend David Venable shared a great video earlier this week…how to choose the perfec... Continue Reading

Hi, everyone! What will you be doing this time next week? Traveling home for the holiday? Doing the grocery shopping? Tidying up? If you’re feeling a little panicked, don’t. You’ve still got plenty of time to get everything in order. In fact, I'll bet you even have time to personalize your holiday table. Here are three easy DIY projects that add up to create one terrific table. Do one, or do them all. I think every table needs to have a colorful centerpiece. And in the fall, I like to use pumpkins. Hi, everyone! It SNOWED here yesterday in the Philadelphia area! We had a fire going in our living room last night and it felt like the holiday season was really here. Truth be told, it practically is here. Thanksgiving is two weeks away, Christmas is just over a month away, and it’s time to make all those recipes we wait for and covet after the holidays are long gone. As the snow was falling, I found myself in the kitchen gathering ingredients to make my mom’s Sock It To Me Cake. And before I knew it, I had a cake in the oven. Do you remember when my mom came to make that with me... Continue Reading

A few years ago, David Venable and I hosted QVC’s first-ever Google Hangout, which is kind of like a live chat and webcast in one. Anyone can meet up and chat, or only a few people chat while others watch and listen. Pretty cool. Anyway, David and I did a You're Home with Jill and In the Kitchen with David Thanksgiving-inspired Hangout. And, we both shared some planning tips, entertaining ideas, and of course, recipes with attendees. This was one of the recipes I shared and I just love it...Candy Turkeys! Candy Turkeys Ingredients: Candy corn Chocolate double-stuff Oreos Golden... Continue Reading

Seven Spooky Scenes for Halloween!

Started by Jill Bauer in For the Home Talk, Hosts & Personalities, Mom to Mom Blogs 1414691553.22

Hi, everyone! Do you remember the YHJ back-to-school mason jar challenge last month? We sent some of our favorite bloggers a set of mason jars and asked them to make a clever back-to-school creation. It was AWESOME…we had teacher survival kits, snacks for the kids, you name it. Well, I wondered what our talented friends could do with the Halloween decorations we have here at QVC. So, we sent our bloggers some props and one instruction: create a spooky scene. The results are in—just in time for Halloween. Kimbo, from A Girl and a Glue Gun, made a spooky frame from QVC’s p... Hi, everyone! I love popcorn. And I love how you can literally add any flavor—cheddar, spicy pepper, or caramel and make a totally new treat. A gourmet popcorn shop near my home has bins filled with chocolate-covered popcorn and it got me thinking…what if you put white chocolate—and peppermint—on top of your popcorn? It seemed perfect. Well, I tried it. And it turned out even better than I could have imagined. Here’s my holiday recipe for Peppermint Popcorn Balls! Peppermint Popcorn Balls Ingredients: 1 bag microwave popcorn, popped 8 oz white chocolate ... Continue Reading

Hi, everyone! My friend Emily and I have been friends for a LONG time. In fact, now that I think about it…we’ve been besties since we were eight. Our dads took business classes together, our moms were teachers and taught together...I'm not sure we had much of a choice in the matter! Anyway, she joined the same sorority at college that I did (even though we went to different schools), and she was the maid of honor at my wedding. I don’t see her as often as I would like and I’m sure you all have a friend like that. But, we both lead busy lives…me at QVC and a fa... Continue Reading
