Started by Jill Bauer in Kitchen & Food Talk, For the Home Talk, Hosts & Personalities 1408466284.29

Hi, everyone! I’m so thrilled with the photos you’ve shared for our #YHJInsipred challenge! It’s clear I’m not the only one who loves to play interior decorator and have fun with colors, decorations, and textures. I’ve sorted through your living room photos and landed on three terrific rooms: This is Karen’s living room. She told me she likes to use patterns and colors in pillows, curtains, artwork, and accessories to brighten a room or add interest and that’s so apparent—there’s so much to look at in this room, but it doesn’t fee... We started at Longwood gardens for drinks, dinner, and our first hellos!   Everyone seemed to enjoy getting a sneak peek at some of the new Christmas items I designed...and just being together!... Hi, everyone! Happy August! Our “Get Inspired” month is officially underway. I talked about this idea a little in my last blog, but essentially, you all inspire me so much with your posts, comments, blog replies, and photos. I love seeing what you’re doing on social media and I want to highlight YOU this month...the moms, wives, and talented women out there who cook, craft, and make their houses homes. On Tuesday, I asked to see photos of your kitchens…I wanted to know how you incorporated a pop of color into your décor. And now…here are the results! ... Continue Reading

It's Christmas in July(R) on QVC...Why Not Throw a Party!

Started by Jill Bauer in Kitchen & Food Talk, Hosts & Personalities, Mom to Mom Blogs 1406059063.89

Hi, everyone! Last weekend was QVC’s very first You’re Home with Jill weekend and I thought it was just fabulous, if I do say so myself! We welcomed folks from all over the country—as far away as Arizona and Texas! Everyone really seemed to enjoy the beauty of Longwood Gardens and then we had a great dinner that night, fun jewelry exchanges, and we saw the saw the fountain show that evening. I think the highlight for me and all the girls—and one brave husband—was going to the Downton Abbey display at Winterthur. It was so fun to see the costumes and relive our fa... Continue Reading

Iced Tea 3 Ways: Beat the Heat!

Started by Jill Bauer in Kitchen & Food Talk, Hosts & Personalities, Mom to Mom Blogs 1404852407.67

Hi, everyone! It is HOT here in the West Chester area…my thermometer says 89.9, but it feels like 100°F! What’s it like in your area? Hot? Humid? Are you looking for a way to beat the heat? I have two refreshing little words for you: Iced Tea. I think everyone has their own special iced tea recipe…my grandmother used to steep loose black tea leaves on her stove for hours. Then, she strained it, added LOTS of sugar, and I thought it was the best drink in the world. But what about making flavored teas like you see in the photo above? Red Berry Iced Tea Ingredients... A Patriotic Party--Complete with Recipes--for Independence Day!

Hi, everyone! Now that you have the perfect makeup tips for summertime (thank you Laura Geller!), let’s talk about throwing that Fourth of July party. There are so many ways you can make your tablescape look patriotic. In past years, I took mini American flags and incorporated them into flower arrangements, mason jars filled with strands of mini lights, and even lined the pathway to my patio. In years prior, I celebrated with red and blue Temp-tations®. This year, I’m finding those handy bandanas I used to decorate for my summer barbecue and voila…I’ve got a red... Continue Reading
