Hi, everyone! Since so many of you loved the tips I shared in January for our 31 Days of Organization project, we wanted to give this kind of thing another go. Since it's already the middle of April, we're not doing 31. Instead, we’re doing 12 straight days of tips on how to refresh and renew your home for spring. And it starts….TODAY! First thing’s first…the garden. The weather is FINALLY getting nicer here in Eastern PA and I’m SO excited to get outside for some garden therapy. And I can’t WAIT for the butterflies to return to my garden. I love butterf... Continue Reading

Hi friends~ My family and I have returned from our wonderful vacation to London and I wanted to share some of our trip with all of you.  This was such a special journey for all of us….me returning to London after almost 19 years, a first trip overseas for the kids, Doug’s first time in London and my Mom coming along for the ride!  A trip destined to be filled with wonderful memories.  My only regret is that it wasn’t about 5 days longer!  London is such a wonderful city, there is never enough time to see it all.   Our home base for the wee... More Easter Fun: Glow-in-the-Dark Eggs & Pineapple Casserole

Last Reply by Perkup 1428247047.257 | Started by Jill Bauer in Kitchen & Food Talk, Hosts & Personalities, Mom to Mom Blogs

Hi, everyone!   Last Easter, I saw an idea for glow-in-the-dark eggs and figured out how to make them. If real eggs aren’t your thing, this SHOULD be your thing.   Aren’t those fun!? All you need are glow bracelets—and the eggs, of course. I was able to get bracelets in packages of 12 or 16 at my local craft store. Bend the bracelets to activate the light, roll them into shape, and they should fit nicely inside the eggs. I’m always surprised how long the bracelets glow, but that juice doesn’t last forever. So, tell the kids to play with their DS ... Continue Reading

Hi, everyone! I love making my own centerpieces for the holidays, but I don't like biting off more than I can chew. I love quick, easy, fun centerpieces that make a big impact. And today, I’m going to show you how to make something charming for your Easter table. If you’re looking for that apothecary jar, it’s the 12” jar with lid by Valerie on QVC.com. You can also get the Bethlehem Lights battery-operated strands and glittery Luminara candle I used in the centerpiece on QVC.com, too. I’ll blog with you again on Tuesday…I hope you have a terrific week... Continue Reading

Last Reply by katte 1427246990.213 | Started by Jill Bauer in Kitchen & Food Talk, Hosts & Personalities, Mom to Mom Blogs

Hi, everyone! Easter is next weekend—what are your plans? Are you hosting family and friends? Are you a guest? Wherever you are, I hope you’ll have time to color some Easter eggs. And, this year, why not try using natural ingredients to dye them? I’ll bet you have most of these ingredients in your pantry or spice cabinet, which means one less trip to the store. And better yet, you know what you’re using to color your eggs. It’s nice to have that reassurance, you know? First thing’s first: I dyed the eggs while they cooked, so I used four separate pots... Hi, everyone! Today is QVC’s all-day Spring Fever™ Garden Special event. And, I’ll be joining you AGAIN for a special edition of You’re Home with Jill at 4pm ET. Since spring officially arrives this Saturday (CAN I GET AN AMEN!?!) it’s time to start tending your garden! Here’s a little checklist of where you might begin: Now, they’re calling for an icy mix here in Eastern PA tomorrow. If you, too, live in an area where winter weather is still lingering, you might not want to plant anything outside just yet. But, you can go ahead and get planters st... Continue Reading

Dinnerware as (Spring!) Decor

Started by Jill Bauer in Kitchen & Food Talk, For the Home Talk, Hosts & Personalities 1426613620.49

Hi, everyone! If I were to give you my very best piece of entertaining advice, it’s to be realistic and take shortcuts where you can. I have the highest of hopes at every holiday and party but there’s only so much time in the day. So whether you order dessert instead of baking it or you buy pre-made favors at the party store, it’s really okay. REALLY. It's okay. No one is going to think you’re a lesser host or hostess. And really, how would anyone ever know?! So when it comes to entertaining this season, what if I told you you could decorate for spring just by setting... Continue Reading
