Everything's Bigger in Texas

Started by Courtney Cason in Hosts & Personalities, Music 1430109590.007

Visiting Arlington, TX for the Academy of Country Music 50th Celebration was an incredible experience. From the time we landed in Dallas until the time we stepped on the Red Carpet, Country Music and Texans alike welcomed us with open arms.    Of course we packed so many activities into our tiny trip... As the saying goes "Everything's Bigger in Texas" and we had a big ole time.    Spending time with Clint Black was such a wonderful experience. He's a gentle, kind soul that told so many stories about country music.   We tried our best to get my hair a... Continue Reading

My Road Trip Playlist

There's something about Country Music that takes you straight home to Heartland. As we're getting ready to travel to Arlington for the Academy of Country Music's 50th Award Celebration, I though to myself... "Let's make a playlist." Let's pretend we're in a Ford Mustang convertible, driving the dusty roads of Texas and singing from the top of our lungs instead of nodding our heads back and forth on that 737 :-). With the launch of Q the music, here are some of my favorite road trip songs from some of Country Music's biggest names.      Miranda Lambert- Little Red Wagon Favor... Continue Reading

Happy Birthday Winston!

At the end of 2013 I didn't think my life could get any better. The man of my dreams had asked me to marry him and all seemed right in my world. It was the beginning of December when Aaron took me out to a nice dinner and told me that he'd be giving me one of my Christmas presents early. At first I thought would be going to a Christmas play but when we arrived in front of an apartment building I knew something was up. As we got on the elevator Aaron looked at me and said he was getting us a dog for Christmas. At that point I just burst out crying because I couldn't have been more excited. &nb... Continue Reading

Beauty Obsessed: Foundation Fix Tutorial!

Last Reply by samslilangel 1425793850.973 | Started by Courtney Cason in Beauty Banter, Hosts & Personalities

Perfect foundation application seems like an impossible feat at times. You know I'm slightly obsessed with trying the "next big thing" in beauty, well here it is.... Color Me foundation applicator.   Don't worry, it looks intimidating, but there are super easy-to-follow directions included on the pamphlet inside the box.   Underneath the shiny metal cap is a soft, smooth foundation applicator pad.    Apply your choice of foundation to the applicator pad. I used a dollop of Tarte foundation from the Miracles collection.   The applicator works with vibrat... Continue Reading

Juicing vs. Smoothies -- Recipes I love!

Hi Friends!   If you've been hanging out around my Facebook page lately you can see I have been drinking a lot of fresh pressed juice.  There have been a lot of questions about recipes and why I decided to do it, so I thought I would answer all of it in a blog.     I decided to add juice to my overall diet for a couple of reasons.  With getting married, honeymooning, and the holiday's all rolled into 3 crazy months, I felt like I wasn't making good decisions with the foods that I ate.  It was a lot of indulgence that led me to feel a l... When I walk through the door I want my house to remind me of a Christmas Wonderland. This year, I wanted to decorate our home with a warm and happy vibe that welcomed any guest in. With this being our first Christmas as a married couple, I wanted it to feel more special than ever. That included decorating the dog. :-)   Continue Reading

Brownie Cookies

Last Reply by IamQueenie 1418869443.353 | Started by Courtney Cason in Recipe Swap, Cookie Exchange, Hosts & Personalities

Brownie cookies??? Yum! I found this recipe on Pinterest and thought it would be perfect to try out because 1 - it's chocolatey and 2- I love baking for the holidays. Make sure to cool your cookies all the way before transferring to a plate or individual baggies. Since this recipe is very brownie-like, you want the cookies to "set" a bit before removing them from the parchment paper (or aluminum foil.) Makes 24 cookies   Ingredients: 1 box of brownie mix 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), room temperature 4 oz. cream cheese, room temperature 1 egg 2 cups chocolate chips (any kind!) &nbs... Continue Reading

My Thanksgiving Menu

Four years ago, Aaron and I celebrated our first Thanksgiving together. It was just the two of us and neither of us had ever cooked Thanksgiving Dinner.  Every dish was new, exciting, and completely different from what we were used to having with our families back home.  That Thanksgiving we decided that every year after we would set the table with the tried and true turkey and racks of ribs, but change up the deserts and sides for an ultimate gourmet experience.     Cooking last year for friends Lisa, Rachel, My Mom & I... read more about last year'...
