I love January! My birthday is this month, and my Mom always made a huge fuss for birthdays, so I loved when the first of the year rolled around. I found this photo from my 14th birthday, loved the Snoopy card (probably from my big brother John), and the homemade cake with baseball figures on it! In those days it was all about baseball and ballet. I think the cake was chocolate with seafoam icing, a staple in 1976.
And I love winter! The snow, skiing, sledding, snowman making, all makes me happy. It's a little disconcerting when you walk into a store and bathing ... Continue Reading

All summer – and now winter - our shoe shopping family will continue sharing their adventures called, “A Walk in Your Shoes!” during Shoe Shopping with Jane. It’s Liam’s turn, as he is one of our “shoe family’s” favorite people.
Although, sometimes, the best thing about winter is escaping to somewhere warm! That's what Liam did on his first cruise - complete with a yummy, fruity drink.
It wasn't all fun and games though. Here is is getting a healthy run in. Way to go!
How better to celebrate than with pizza!

Turquoise has been honored for thousands of years. It has been named as the first gem ever recorded in history. Cultures across the globe honor its color and power. It is turquoise!
Loving gems as we do, it is interesting that most people have a very personal, lasting story of turquoise. Here is mine;
As a student at the School of the Pennsylvania Ballet, my friends were my ballet friends. Kids at school just didn't understand why I left early every day, why I never went to parties on Friday night, and, yes, they were pretty cruel at times. My ballet buddies understood it... Continue Reading

My friend Amy Oselkin from Clarks just got back from London with news on the trends for 2015. Here they are:
"For Spring 2015, Clarks will be bringing you lots of sporty lux looks. Be on the watch for athletic hardware, perforated textures and unexpected cutouts. You will also see a nod to the 70s with wedge sandals and chunkier heel that will easily take you from day to night."
“For Fall 2015 - it’s all about boots! While ankle boots still reign, you will see more man tailored accents like broguing details and laces. Also, blood red is still in our veins and will become ... Continue Reading

Deirdre loves Christmas, as all of us do! But the Nativity has a very special place in her heart because she's been collecting them for a long time.
She wanted to share Here are some of her favorites, in her own words:
"This was my first Nativity set. I got it when I was a baby, and I loved the music. It plays "Away in a manger."
"I always wanted my own Advent wreath. This was perfect because it is also a Nativity."
“I had to have an Irish Nativity! I love the flying angel on the stable."
"My favorite part about this Nativity set is the Wise Men on the camels. I don't have any... Continue Reading

Sean and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this year! However, it seems like yesterday we were planning my parent’s 25th wedding anniversary party too!
I was 11, and we had a Mass in our home the day of the anniversary, and a dinner for immediate family. Dad thought we were done with the celebrating, but little did he know that on Sunday we were having a huge "surprise" anniversary party! Since it was at our house, we had to tell him some people were coming over, but when the bus of IHM sisters arrived from Immaculata College, he knew this was bigger than he anticipate...
