It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks devoted to FFANY Shoes On Sale. But it really did start months and months ago. From our hard working shoe planners and buyers working with our generous donors, to planning a fun night of shoe shopping! Here are a few, well more than a few, photos from the past couple of weeks. There are so many people to thank, but mostly YOU for supporting this important cause along with us!
Off to the gala! And, yes, I chose the Ann Marino Kingdom Dress shoe.

My human family is at it again. They love Halloween and these pictures were shown at the live show (that I was NOT invited to). Just sayin’.
So – here they are in their costumes and having fun at the show. It was the very first live audience for Shoe Shopping so there was a lot going on.

Do you remember the tree your family had growing up? Probably had one like ours! No one did a theme, or color scheme, just family heirlooms and new additions added every year! When I was little, we had to have a double needle Canadian balsam. Dad insisted! And sometimes, when the tree was a little sparse, he would stop the complaining by saying, "God made that tree!" and of course the groaning would end! My parents would put the tree on a platform made by Dad (that lives on in my sister Chrissy's house today!) and we would go to bed. The next morning, Santa not only left gifts for the fi... The legend of the ballet flat in fashion goes back to icon Audrey Hepburn. Of course, the first flat shoe dates back 1000's of years, but fashion took notice when Audrey made it famous! The story goes that Miss Hepburn was in Paris and went to see legendary designer Givenchy, in pencil slacks, a crisp white shirt, and ballet slippers. The look was born! Here's a photo of my buddy, Amy Oselkin, in a classic Audrey Hepburn pose wearing the Clarks Haydn Gloss Bendables Leather Loafer!
In my summers during college my job was working in a bridal salon. Loved it! And I remember ... Continue Reading

Favorite thing about fall shoes?? Boots! No longer just for work or snow, boots are always the number one footwear choice for fall. And, they go back 1000's of years! The First "boots" showed up around 1000 BC, when an enterprising soul stitched a sandal to a legging to protect the ankle. First boots were born! Whether we sported the go-go boots of the 60's (like Deirdre's retro dance number!) or cowboy boots even in the hottest weather, boots are a go-to in everybody's closet!
So - what are some of the top trends in boots this fall? (Warning, writing this blog led me to buy two... Continue Reading

Both of my dad's parents came to America from Italy, so his family Italian suppers were legendary! Here is his all-day slow-cooked supper.
3 lbs baby baked ribs 1 lb Italian sausage (hot or sweet)
2 hard-boiled eggs Chicken legs (one per person!) 28 oz tomato sauce Fresh basil, about 4 leaves Salt and pepper 1/2 tsp sugar 1 tsp Italian seasoning
In a large skillet with a little olive oil, brown the baby back ribs and cut into individual portions. Brown the sausage and chicken legs. Add to large Crock-Pot with the sauce, seasonings, sugar, and fresh basil. Next, ... Continue Reading

Deirdre went to her first ballet recital before she was born! Her big sister Cara was performing about a month before Deirdre was born so it just seemed natural that as soon as she was old enough, she went to dance class too. Growing up, Cara and Deirdre would perform numbers from classic musicals (Sound of Music, Meet Me in St. Louis) when they were about ages 7 and 2. Most guests were treated to "So Long, Farewell..." from the Sound of Music as they headed out the door! And, like all sisters, they had their moments, but the bond of dance has always been there for them and a... Continue Reading
