My Time with Mary Beth

Hi, Everyone,

Thanks for reading my blog this week! Hopefully, you are enjoying it every week. This week is exciting at our house, because it is Cory's 18th birthday! Cory is our second child. I can hardly believe that he is already 18! I remember the day he was born like it was yesterday. It was about 3 weeks before my due date, and I went to church that morning feeling fine. We came home from church, made lunch, ate lunch, and I got up from the kitchen table to take the dishes to the sink, and I felt a 'ping-ping'. I had no idea what that was, but then my water broke. He's the only baby of all my kids where my water broke at home. I had not had one contraction prior to that moment.

I ran to the bathroom and hollered for Mark and told him we needed to get Eric to a neighbor's house so we could go to the hospital before too long. Just then, the doorbell rang. It was some high school kid selling raffle tickets. Mark went to the door, eyes as big as silver dollars, and told the kid, "I can't right now, my wife's having a baby!" That kid proceeded to run to the neighbor's house and tell them that some woman was having a baby in the house next door! Of course, the neighbor's came running, only to find out that I wasn't actually giving birth at that moment but trying to get ready to leave.

Anyway, everything worked out just fine. We got Eric to a neighbor's house, and we left for the hospital. As we drove out of the neighborhood, the word had already gotten around to pretty much everyone, and they were all standing outside their houses waving goodbye to us! I was so embarrassed! A few hours later, Cory was born.

Now he's finishing his junior year of high school and loves music! Remember he is the one who wrote, produced and recorded the music that we use every week for my show. So next time you hear it, you'll know that Cory did that. He's hoping to go to college for audio engineering and business to work in the music industry someday.

Well, speaking of My time with Mary Beth , every Wednesday at 9am, this week we will be focusing on Time to Take Care of Yourself, Time in the Kitchen and Time for Summer. We have some great products, and a really good cookbook. Don't forget that Marie Osmond will be back finally, and she and I will be together next Monday, June 15th, at 4pm eastern. I can't wait to see her...it's been so long, and I know the dolls she is bringing are terrific!

Have a terrific week, and I'll see you Wednesday morning!

Blessings on you,
Mary Beth Roe

Hi Mary Beth,
I really had a "deja vu" when I read your blog about the "ping ping" you felt when you were going into labor with Cory. That is exactly what happened to me when I was about to go into labor with my daughter, who, incidentally, will be 30 years old on July 5th! I also remember that moment as if it were yesterday, and still cannot believe I am the mother of a 30 year old! I also have 2 sons , ages 26 and 22. Even though at times it doesn't feel like it when they are younger, they sure grow up too fast!

Anyway, I really enjoy watching your new show every week. I have been a QVC customer since 1990, and have been very satisified with everthing from clothes to kitchen items to jewelry, etc.....! You are one of my favorite hosts, and I wish you the best of health and the best of luck with your new show!

Mary Beth, enjoy reading your blog and hearing things about your family/children. I can remember when you were pregnant with your 1st child. and your boys being on the air when they were young. Keep up the good work. I always enjoy when you are on the air.
Ping-ping! Oh what a feeling! I had that with my third baby, no pains just what was that? And where is all that water coming from?!!! Nearly 33 years ago & I too, recall that moment like yesterday. Three hours & 6 hard pains later there was my bouncing baby boy!!! Ha, ha! It's amazing how moments like that can connect us.
I always loved seeing the children of the hosts. You have a beautiful family & its so nice that you've shared them with us through the years.
Wednesday is my day off & I have a cup of coffee & enjoy My Time with you! Last week was great with the Quilt Show following.
You are very down to earth and bring such an elegant touch to QVC, I really enjoy watching you. Keep up the great work!
